OP I like to crank my music and my home theatre. Apartments just ain’t gonna cut it . My house is small , just under 870 ft , but at least I can crank chit up if I want to

Mirin. When I crank the music up, the power suspiciously goes down. Filthy neighbor turns off the central power switch to my apartment for sure.

My house is 3408 or 3804 sqft (can't remember which one) and I use about 1/4 of it.

I can rent out rooms or even the whole MIL suite but dont' want roomates.

I WAS looking to sell, downsize to a standard 3br 2.5ba ranch 1400-1800sq ft ike I used to live in, HOWEVER what blew my mind is that looking into it, I found that by the time I sold mine and had bought the other, I would pretty much break even.

The key is having land, not a giant house. Also having family and animals.
