I had a fat Kiwi walk into a free weight room about 18 months back and watch me finish a set of under hand grip Yates Rows and ask me if I was curling (because you absolutely bend at the hips and pull your elbows back to contract your lats in order to curl) and when I told him they were Yates Rows he told me to change my grip to overhand - I thanked him for his advice, told him that kills the ROM and makes it a less effective movement and he stared at me for like 4 seconds and said ok, then proceeded to 3/4 squat 40kg for a set of 8. I came back into the room about half hour after I finished my set to do some RDLs and he was still doing 3/4 squats for sets of 8 with a massive break in between sets.
