probably nothing better than sitting around in a little italian village playing cards and drinking red wine at noon with the boys without a care in the world
I appreciate what Bryan is doing as I think it will lead to longevity improvements for humanity, but he is utterly consumed by his own demise. he must live with a horrific deal of psychological stress to do what he does

Yep, and I've known people who have died in their 60s because of cancer or other health complications, and they have lived a "healthy" lifestyle, no alcohol/smoking/etc.. Focused so much on the healthy lifestyle that they cut off all pleasant indulgences life has to offer...
Bet that 83 enjoyed himself more than some of the health freaks who died much younger than him, that i know.
It's all about moderation, learn self control... Thats what people dont seem to understand.. You dont need to cut yourself off from the fun things in life

Per Google his estimated net worth is between $200 million and $400 million.
He is only 76 but looks older imo.
He has a daughter with Heidi Klum (in those weird lingerie pics that misc always posts).

most of the "old" italian men i know die 60-70 lol
Most Italian men who make it close to 100 are living a different lifestyle. They might drink a lot of red wine but they're the types to have a smaller appetite and skinny build. They usually get up early and walk for miles every day in the fresh air. I have a great uncle who lives in Boston like this srs.

I feel like optimizing everything like Bryan Johnson would actually be counterproductive. I’m not sure.

neither.
Aristotle’s "golden mean" is the ethical principle that virtue is a balanced "middle way" between two extreme states: excess and deficiency. By avoiding both having too much (vice of excess) and too little (vice of deficiency) of a trait, a person achieves rational, excellent, and flourishing behavior.
