probably nothing better than sitting around in a little italian village playing cards and drinking red wine at noon with the boys without a care in the world

I appreciate what Bryan is doing as I think it will lead to longevity improvements for humanity, but he is utterly consumed by his own demise. he must live with a horrific deal of psychological stress to do what he does

Exactly. That's why I can't take people who do AA seriously. Obviously alcoholism isn't a real thing, and it's most likely someone's shitty life causing them to have issues with alcohol. However, if you can find a way to improve your life, there's no reason a person shouldn't be able to have a couple drinks from time to time.

This. Most of the old timers in my family were unhealthy AF. Obese, smoked like a chimney, drank like a fish, gambled, developed tons of health problems by their 50s or 60s.

Most Italian men who make it close to 100 are living a different lifestyle. They might drink a lot of red wine but they're the types to have a smaller appetite and skinny build. They usually get up early and walk for miles every day in the fresh air. I have a great uncle who lives in Boston like this srs.
