You can't legally throw hands though. If you end up in the penalty box, it's because what you did was against the rules.

You can't properly punch on ice anyway. All the power comes through the legs and you'll never get enough traction. It's all theatrical arm flailing and grabbing. Worst someone'll get is a bust nose or popped lip or something.
