I wonder if he holds the patent to this product or his parents. Not sure if theres a legal age where you can actually submit something for patent or not.

Maybe hes actually smart enough to understand what he wants for his future. Other ideas spawning from this or even the fact he may think he can make far more holding onto the patent for this product.

No lawyer here. But even if it's patented does he have the money to enforce it? And what about similar but different enough products?

Yeah exactly. usually patents are rather broad with their definitions so I would think he and his parents have a good idea where they want to go with this.

I'd have taken the 30mil because pre rev that's an insane buyout and I'd have great funds to start another idea.

What a real money maker! Can you imagine? Having one of these in the mall? How will they even keep the thing stocked?! First aid kits are a hot commodity, what a treat! I'd be the luckiest kid in the world if my mother bought me a first aid kit instead of a candy bar from the vending machine when I was younger.

Wtf. Garbage idea.

Had a $30 mil idea at 14.

Brb having $30 mil liquid at 14

Brb don't even need to go to college, get a job

Lettuce be real brahs, when we were 14 we were even more retarded than this kid, at least he managed to invent a $30 mil idea.

He probably has 0 understanding of economics/business, and does expect to get an offer twice as large in the future, or he thinks that this valuation is less than how much his company can make, etc.

Real bad idea and therefore probably bullchit.

Vending machines are one of the most classic "get rich quick schemes" in existence. Every joe schmoe will be on this immediately, and there are zero barriers to entry as - because there's no money in selling via vending machines - there's a whole industry that hires out whatever vending machine you want at any level of technological advancement, to the joe schmoes who think they'll stop rotting via vending machine earnings.

Bad move. But bullchit, because lol @ the idea of someone offering anything for a vending machine business.

What a fukin idiot. The earlier you invest money, the more valuable it becomes down the road. Invest 29 million and live on 1 mil the next 10 years. There's no guarantee his company will ever be worth anything significant ever again.

I cringe just as hard when somebody declines millions to go play a sport because they want to be the first to finish college in their family. What if you get a crippling injury you fukin retard? Take the money when it's there, it may never be there again.

Its one of those ideas that you think about, then think "Naww wouldnt make sense in the real world". Or can picture the SharkTank tv show guys ripping it apart.

Just shows that "dumb" ideas can work.
