Regarding its historical sense, don't forget it's where Monica and Chandler hooked up for the first time.

Everything else isn't outrageous, I travel a lot with work and the big cities in Europe are generally on par for food and drink costs, the only difference is there's nowhere near as much choice or as much going on in these places as there is in London, not even close. it's probably the only genuine global city in the world along with New York, if you can't have a good time here and find something to interest you, amaze you, excite you, etc then you're probably never happy.

As for the weather, yeah it's chit a lot of the time but it's England ffs, you're not coming here to lie on the beach

And I guarantee unless you're living in some poverty chit hole suburb like tower hamlets or barking you'all rarely meet a 'snackbar' at all, certainly not within Zone 1
Was in zone 1 for all 3 days of my recent visit...snack bars everywhere. Especially the tube.

I lived in Clerkenwell for a bit which is a decent area and confirm London is a total sh#thole. It's the one major city I've been to that I actually dislike. It's a filthy dive rammed full of pretentious ball bags and pakis. It's generally got a horrible atmosphere about the place, I like chilled out cities with nice scenery like Barcelona or Vienna

The real sad thing is it's the best of the UK.

The thought of spending the rest of my life here fills me with depression.

apart from if you want to travel anywhere in london there is always a strike because some fk wants to be paid more when they are already pulling 80k a year. oh and travel actually costs an arm and a leg, and takes fking hours to get anywhere. you can't drive anywhere because its just traffic, and underground is full of potential ISIS members.

go look up the recent documentary about underground people unveiling ISIS members wanting to blow chit up.

London is good for a visit to see some specific attraction or event, but fuk living there. It's fun to get in the way of all the self-important wankers rushing up and down the escalators on the tube.

Ive been to London 3 times. Last time was now in August. I love London! Wish I could live there.. I lived in the Kengsington area which was nice and classy. The history and architecture of London is sick! Yes there are alot of muslims but i dont care as I dont visit poor areas. It was not overpriced compared to Norway but more expensive than expected.

Love London. Will probably live there for a semester if i get the chance

Like old or "nice"? How about Amsterdam, Paris, Munich, Vienna, Budapest, Bucharest, ... Are you just comparing London to other English-speaking cities in the New World or what? The entire continent of Europe is full of beautiful cities. Ever ride a bike around Amsterdam on a sunny summer day? Or just sit at a cafe and watch the bikes, boats, cars, and people go by?

No hate on London, but for me it's not the GOAT. Sometime in the early 1900's it lost it's title to NYC and in relation to other European cities in not as beautiful in layout, architecture, culture, or climate. (brb Barcelona and all the other cities I've listed above). Nonetheless great town with great history and would visit again without hestiation. Would not live.
