They've been driven the same, if anything, the 2008 car has been better maintained for several years as it would have only been a weekend car.

I'm not bothered about age as long as there's low miles, not many previous owners and a full service history!

Make sure the IMS and RMS has been done

Would advise to spend the extra and get an 'S'

Get a manual - tiptronic is chit

Coil packs go fairly frequently but easy to change by yourself

Thought about getting a Cayman instead?

Actually one of the most helpful posts as I was looking into this stuff and reading the Porsche-owners club forum earlier today.

The Cayman is about $5K more, even second-hand, for a decent one. Is it worth the extra investment?

What do you currently drive brah? Will PM you tomorrow morning

Annual leave isn't very long, and given the nature of my job, I can't take more than 5 days off in a row even if I gave months of notice. I would have to quit and find a job further away and where I save less money, if I wanted more freedom to travel. Don't think that's an option anymore until I build up some experience and more cash to be grounded tbh

Personally I'd buy a cheap car and save as much money as possible, invest it and live life doing what you want to do on your own terms.

If you want to buy it because you're an enthusiast and thoroughly enjoy driving then yes get it. If you want it to get sloots or show off then don't bother. Don't listen to these *******s who say it's a girl's car and poverty blah blah bs. Talk to any real petrolhead and they will tell you they are fantastic driver's cars. Lightweight and nimble with a nice amount of power. Not to mention it's one of the only affordable mid-engined cars for dat weight distribution. Make sure it's manual too. Personally I'd pay the extra for the cayman cuz I'm just not that into convertibles but either way you can't go wrong.

You realise the reason I save money is because I don't have friends?

Don't get me wrong, I have membership at the golf club, I do a hobby once a week, I have a gym membership, I spend some money... But I go to these things with my headphones in listening to an album or audiobook.

If I had friends, I would be buying drinks and food, I would be paying club entries, I would be dropping money on vacations and parties and spring break and restaurants and birthdays and all kinds of stuff.

I feel like you can't have both; it's one or the other. But I guess I could save like 5000 instead of 12000+ and enjoy my 20s rather than rot alone.

But how do I even go about making friends now that I've finished university? The people at work are all older than me, same with the people at golf, gym people will have no interest in me since I go to run and swim not to lift. I have no idea where to begin when it comes to making some new buddies to have fun with. Hence why for now, I'm sort of content saving money and enjoying my own company (even if it sounds depressing)

Atleast twice a month I drive to the mountains and take my car on the windy roads. It's fantastic. I park up and climb a mountain while listening to a motivational audiobook and then I sit and admire the views and drive back to the city. I also drive to the golf club and hit 100-200 balls at the driving range once a week, again with my headphones in.

Now imagine doing those kinds of weekend activities... But in a Porsche! It's not for sloots or to show off since I don't even have any friends or any chance of a GF, it's to make me feel epic, nail some apex's and drive home feeling GOAT after doing my two biggest hobbies of golf and hiking

Well there's your answer brah, go for it. Cars>sloots and everything else IMO. A boxster would be perfect for spirited driving on windy back roads. When it comes to German cars, Porsches are the most reliable. Repairs can be expensive but the likelyhood of having those repairs is lower.
