The whole Mediterranean is a bit of a scam, TBH. Especially the poorer Mediterranean when you know everyone there is poor by N. American standards and yet they still charge $20+ for a seafood dinner - is this real life? Tourism makes a lot of these countries greedy.

I remember spending $8 a night for a hostel bed in Tallinn some 6 years ago and the same place is now $20 a night.

Well I dont know if it would quite count as a vacation/trip, but in the Navy we made a quick stop at Djibouti. Wasnt an actual port visit, in the usual sense, though.

Shocked to see Americans say Paris, Rome, and London. Literally three of the best cities in the world. Obviously stayed in poverty places and did poverty things.

new delhi was a **** hole. i went to the taj and had to take a poop. no toilet paper anywhere there, new delhi itself is overcrowded, traffic is insane, everyone smells, the culture has no personal space either... not sure what i was expecting. literally everywhere i went i was hounded by beggars.

worst for work = New Ulm, Minnesota 2 hours south of minneapolis, there for 2 weeks for work. Was last february, i wanted to kill myself.

Downtown Baltimore. Watch "the wire" for references. It's a ghetto chithole. Got lost and ended up there in the middle of the night. Didn't stop at any red lights or stop signs hoping like hell a cop would pull me over and get me tf out of there.

San Francisco for me, and coming in second is Washington DC.

SF just stinks, homeless people everywhere smells like sewage. granted alcatraz is cool but it doesnt deserve the hype it gets.

DC, just nothing there was interesting or I cared to see and after you got out of the white house bubble, what a ghetto (reminded me of vegas when you get off the strip)

Pattaya, Thailand basically the Galveston of Thailand in terms of beaches. So many nicer place in Thailand to go and that was the beach I ended up at. Of course I think the upcountry is still a better experience. After all you can get beaches in America.

Adelaide is an amazing place to visit if you have the right guide. I stayed with some locals and we got to do all sorts of fun things from epic wine tasting, touring that cricket ground, seeing the deadliest snakes in the world, seeing penguins, eating the best oyster in the world, petting Koalas and feeding Kangaroos. I suspect you had a bad guide kind of like folks that hated Paris, Rome or London. Or you've had some amazing vacations.

Do they not have the hoses? You get a nice spicy dish and those things are a life saver.

For me, the chittest place iv ever been too is Albania and Bosnia. Full derelict spec... poverty everything.

Their freeways are still rubble, everyone seems to sell corn or wash cars, good food is a myth, dangerous, they hate anyone but their own people etc.

Paris is awesome. My least favorite place I've ever visited has to be Connecticut. Terrible place

Nope did most of that stuff, just that you find all that in a lot of other places in Australia too. It was more about the atmosphere and feel of the place. After nighttime it was full of delinquents. You had people fighting in the streets, or screaming at each other. The place didn't really feel like the rest of Australia....not that fighting in the streets is not something uncommon in Australia (or in the UK to be honest, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones I suppose!). Parts outside of the city in SA were really nice though. Just Adelaide itself was a terrible city.

This wasn't just my opinion, nearly everyone I met whilst travelling agreed it was one of the worst cities they had been to in Australia.
The atmosphere was not dissimilar from Birmingham.

Saying that, Melbourne was not fantastic either. Supposedly a city in Australia know for it's "culture". Absolutely nothing of the sort. High rise buildings, too modern etc. The only real presence of culture there was from the Asian community, but that's not what you hope for when visiting a city in Australia.
At least the nightlife in Melbourne was superior to Sydney, and pretty much anywhere else in Australia.

Mumbai - terrible place overall, I liked the smaller Indian cities though
London - ugly town apart from the sights
Rome - loud as hell
Paris - lots of dirty places, djunkies/jobless people hanging out in the parks
Madrid - metal detectors everywhere, more expensive than smaller Spanish towns

Still enjoyed thode trips, but the cities had some downsides

Prague, but it was my own fault.

Night 1. Banged my head on a door frame in a club (manmore crew) and my friend had to take me back to the hotel because I could barley stand up after that, a mixture of drunk and concussed. Then threw up the following morning which i've never done before as a result of a night out.

Night 2. Lost phone in a Taxi. Driver was rushing us out the cab for some reason. Phone fell out my pocket. GG.

San Jose, Costa rica- if you like to get mugged and your kid trampled by the crowds (although other parts of the country are the bomb)
