What's the worst place/city you have ever taken a vacation/trip to?

Where is it?

For me it's Belize. Belize city was a complete dump. Caye Caulker which was our intended destination was nice but overpriced and a very small island. By day 2 I was bored.

I definitely won't go back to Belize.

Not even if it's a bad experience but out of all the places you visited what would be last on your list of cities you would make a return visit.

I went to a conference in Detroit and my last job sent me to Detroit as well. The city is a barren wasteland. They have been improving over many years but it is still in such chit condition. Poverty stricken, abandoned homes EVERYWHERE outside of downtown, the surrounding cities (Flint and Pontiac) are just as rundown if not worse, most buildings are boarded up and closed down, and homeless line the streets of the downtown area. It is sad staying in a 4 star hotel downtown where hardly anyone is staying, and if they are, they are on business (as I was). The city is a former shell of its booming industrial past. It's slightly depressing thinking about it in that light.

I was afraid of even exploring the city thinking I would be a major target.

Well traveled brah checking in(Europe, South America, 40+ states).

By far: San Francisco.

Seriously, there is chit-all to do in that town if you're not into the restaurant/bar/club scene. Cold, dreary, unusable beaches, tons of people, expensive as fak, smell of urine everywhere.

The Palace of the Fine Arts is cool, but it's just a landmark, kind of a "eh, that's cool".

The Golden Gate Bridge and painted ladies are seriously nothing more than a red bridge and a row of houses. Absolutely nothing special outside of being seen on Full House.

I really don't understand the touristic draw to the place.

Worst cities I have ever been to were definitely all in Canada. But the worst place I have gone on a trip is Cuba. South Carolina is kind of bad too. I kind of liked everywhere else I've been, and Europe.

Border town in Myanmar looked sketched and there were weird expats living there.

Ho Chi Minh City. It didn't really offer anything new on BK and PP.

Britain in general - chit food and everything was expensive.

Paris - other than the landmarks and museums, it didn't feel like an European city.

Puerto Vallarta / Mexico - everyone raved about it but it was big let down compared to the 30+ countries I've been to. I guess I shouldn't had taken advice from people who barely travel.

Why was Cuba so bad? Besides the begging and tipping it's generally really safe and friendly people.

Canada is depressing, homeless people everywhere, cold and bleak. Felt like offing myself after 2 days srs.


Worst place was Puerto Banus in Spain lived there for about 6 months while intermittently transferring offshore, it's a nice area, but fukking hell the culture is disgusting there, all tourists being fukkkunts 24/7, I gained a deep and indelible hatred of British women after that. My gf loved it there for some reason though...

It was extremely anti American, all the buildings were crumbling, resort was a dump and the food was really bad. There was also a shortage of basic things like toothpaste.

Vermont. Everything is pretty much closed off from civilization but also expensive as fukk. Not to mention old and run down. The state also charges $30 to enter state parks, no thanks.

You can say that about a lot of Spanish cities. Especially in the summer. Most of the Islands are overrun by obnoxious British Tourist. But still love Spain.

And I am Canadian and I agree. Living in Canada is very overrated. I'm still grateful for growing up here and living here but it seems to have changed for the worse. Way too liberal, WAY too COLD, and way too expensive now.

Not worth it to buy a home for the ridiculous prices you see now only to live in freezing cold depressing temperatures for what seems like half the year. Not worth it/10.

Theres a reason why you'll notice happier people in 3rd crappy countries. Sunlight and warm weather.

Yea I kept asking myself...does anyone actually work or live in these old crumbling buildings? But the weather and beaches is 10/10

Detroit - Lol just don't go there, I only went there for a event.

Buffalo - Only went there for the Bills game.

Cuba - It is just the beach is ok , other than that everything sucked ass.

There's over 1 million Canadians in USA. While there's only like 316,000 - 1,000,000 Americans in Canada. Considering there's like 10x more Americans, this should tell you which country is a better place to live. People vote with their feet.

Was not a big fan of Athens or the cesspool of merchants/pickpockets constantly following and touching me (my tattoos in particular), was akin to a giant slum.
As much as I love Greece, I just couldn't love its capital.
