You can just look up the cost online so it's it like he advertised.

Honestly though man I would be embarrassed putting that chit on my resume unless I was like a senior exec who was like 34 and work paid for it.

I don't look at the MBA and think it's impressive I look at it and think wow this guy is a fuking idiot and wasted 100k on a general business degree lol

I bet I learned everything you learn in his MBA in my undergrad

I have two ivy league degrees and I can assure you that they were worth it. However, keep coping with your level 1 CFA...LOL

too bad there's nothing being done about it. As someone said, it's all about showing you are capable of regurgitating information, and IMO you don't need 4 years of high school and 4 years of college to show if you are smart or dedicated enough to regurgitate information.

That can be done in a total of 4 years max with a better system in place to increase actual knowledge.

Maybe. But people need some education to learn at least basic logic and how to write coherently etc.

You still have a finance undergrad and some financial services experience...maybe he was an english teacher or did TFA or something and wanted to switch over to a finance career. In this case, the MBA made sense for him.

With that said, I tell all my analysts to only go to bschool if they want to completely switch careers (which they could likely leverage anyways with solely their current experience, however the MBA makes it easier) or they want to remain in finance and want a 2 year vacation and some added prestige/upward mobility options.

OP, you are failing to recognize that MBA are the most non-linear thing in the world. MBAs are not worth the money unless you are top-tier, and frankly, no Canadian MBA is considered top tier.

Some fields like doctor, lawyer, etc, as mentioned above require an education, but most fields just require connections.

Man I regret this soooo much. I wish I would've started working straight out of college. Some sort of blue-collar type job where I could've learned the skills a bit in high school and took on the job after high school full-time. And worked and gained experience in the field, and started my own company or something later on.

College is a waste unless you have some path you know you are going towards which you need it like health care or engineering
