This is empirically false. Whether it's man made or not doesn't matter though right. There is a global climate change either way.

co2 scare tactics are a joke but we're pumping a ton of other chit into the air that actually is highly toxic and carcinogenic. if we decrease co2 output, we also decrease the amount of mercury, lead in gasoline from chit countries, particulates, etc. that we're exposed to

Man made CO2 emissions are a drop in the bucket compared to natural emissions. I'm serious, it is literally like nothing. The oceans if i remember right are the single biggest contributor to CO2 emissions. So of course the scientists that support that mankind is the cause adjusted their argument to say, "Well... its a very delicate cycle and the little bit that mankind puts out has been enough to strongly upset this cycle."
That was also in the documentary brah. We've been told man-made CO2 emissions are responsible for climate change but when you take into account natural wildlife and volcanoes etc., they produce a lot more CO2 than all human activities combined.

So, anybody know what the perfect global temperature is? And where we are currently at relative to it?

This.

Why are you linking news articles and documentaries like a fuking high schooler? Link some actual studies and scientific literature and MAYBE we can have a decent discussion.

Without getting too technical I think anyone that learns about the law of conservation of energy and entropy would be able to see that everything we do affects the earth. Every car on the road is a system contributing to the "earth system" if you want to look at it that way. Pretending that 7 billion people don't contribute to that system in a way that will have a measurable effect is stupid. Most likely boiling down to a scaling problem with humans where we have a hard time understanding things once the numbers start getting too large.

Regardless of whether or not you believe in global warming I have yet so see any compelling argument for why we should continue to pollute the air (which kills hundreds of thousands of people every year) and the water (which kills the sea life....which we uhh....eat not to mention our drinking water). Outside of herr derr we need money there is no argument for a global suicide caused by our own choice to ignore what we are doing to the planet.

Like I previously said, the documentary features many professors from within that field talking about studies. Also, you haven't addressed any of the other points in the original post such as the clearly inaccurate predictions.

The mean temperature of the Earth is increasing at a rate that has never been seen before. To say it isnt man caused is ridiculous.

Just because there are occasional cold seasons doesnt mean that the average temp isnt going up.

I never claimed to know more than climate scientists. I'm saying, there areactual climate scientiststhat question the real impact of man-made CO2 emissions. Isn't science about asking questions?

Also, some climate scientists have made claims that turned to be clearly inaccurate. For example -

What scientists said would happen:
Arctic summers ice-free 'by 2013' -http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7139797.stm

What actually happened:
Arctic ice 'grew by a third' after cool summer in 2013 -http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-33594654

Isn't that concerning to you?

The thing is...exactly zero climate scientists or statisticians know the degree to which human emissions raises the global temperature. Not one model has ever been statistically accurate over several recent years. So yes, we can and should reduce our footprint. That is NOT the goal and main focus of global climate policy. The goal of these groups is POLICY, mostly policy affecting economic output, growth, and tax structure. How can you have meaningful economic policy if you don't understand the costs (costs in this case being future warming and consequences). You can not. It's simply conjecture. Fine. Except when that conjecture is focused on wealth redistribution and tax schemes rather than actual emissions reductions and technology advancement.

When you base global economic policy on provably flawed statistical models and see an obvious incentive for misdirection, then citizens can and should be wary.

It's pretty scary to think that all the billionaires of the world that made their fortune though poputing the world and would stand to lose millions if their CO2 emissions are restricted are happy to go along with a lie that would mean just that.

And if it is a lie we could be cleaning up the world for no reason!

Im not watching a documentary, I've seen the physical data. The Earth is getting warmer. Period. Doesnt matter what "scientists" on your documentary say, its data that shows the Earth is getting warmer. It really isnt up for debate or interpretation of the data...

Now, if you want to argue that the effects of Global Warming may not be as bad as people claim, that's a completely different thing. But to say it doesnt exist or isnt happening just shows that you dont have a clue.

And no one questions when it all boils down to 'No need to worry, keep polluting as much as you want in the air and water, it doesn't matter. Keep buying our products, etc.' I'd like to hear the benefits of massively contributing to pollution in both our air and water. Anyone have a list?

Well I never said "pollute the earth" at all. I just shared a documentary featuring numerous climate scientists who believe other factors such as the sun may have a greater impact on climate change than we do. Considering the sun is so many times larger than earth, is it plausible that solar activity could have an effect? Just watch the documentary first because it does throw up legitimate questions.

Why are you so afraid of watching it? They never actually claimed "the earth is cooling" in the documentary. They just question the root cause of climate change supposedly being man-made CO2 emissions.

I never said "climate change doesn't exist":

I'm just saying, professors within that field of study believe factors such as solar activity have a great impact on the climate. They did look at the data and decided to ask questions because of it.

Also, you ignored an example I gave when other climate scientists made claims that were proven to be inaccurate in the past. Doesn't that raise questions for you?

New warning on Arctic sea ice melt
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-13002706

"Scientists who predicted a few years ago that Arctic summers could beice-free by 2013now say summer sea ice will probably be gone in this decade. Now they are working with anew computer model- compiled partly in response to those criticisms - that produces a "best guess" date of2016.

Their work was unveiled at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) annual meeting."

"In the past... we were just extrapolating into the future assuming that trends might persist as we've seen in recent times," said Dr Maslowski, who works at Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Now we're trying to be more systematic, and we've developed a regional Arctic climate model that's very similar to the global climate models participating in Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessments," he told BBC News.

Well that did not happen in 2016. But to merelyquestionthese people's track record is heresy.

first flat earth, now climate change/global warming is a hoax?

climate change is a thing, as it was forever and we are influencing it no matter how significant or insignificant the amount may be. best we can do is try to ease the transition by switching to cleaner energy sources.

doesn't take half a brain to figure the chit out. seems like trump and his idiotics have sparked an increase in ignorant and dumb views

Ive never met a single person (liberal or conservative) that thinks polluting the air is a good thing. The idea that you're going to cost developed nations 100 Trillion for an "at best guess" 0.3F temperature drop by 2100 is what pisses people off.

The science behind all of this is hugely questionable. All of the most recognized models point to little correlations between CO2 and temperature. Both have been much higher and extremely varied in the past loooong before the industrial revolution. If you google global warming the vast majority of charts you'll find from the mainstream media show time frames that only date back 200 years. When you look at the last 500 million years the perspective changes drastically and it becomes quite clear that we are still in an ice age.

The feedback in the models the scientist keep putting out also keep getting revised over and over. Apparently ... what you come up with in a laboratory and computer doesn't always translate well to an open system (the Earth) ... who'd of thought <eye roll>. Quantum computers are in their infancy so i doubt we have the computing power to calculate the infinite amount of variables that play a roll in Earths climate. Idiots on the weather channel can't even get a 3 day forecast right and we're to believe climatologist can predict climate with any reasonable accuracy?

In comes the media political industrial complex to chop of 499.99 millions of years and reduce the debate to...

I guess I should have added, "for the data that exists". Doesnt make it any less true because we have never SEEN the data from a billion years ago. We have data going back 500 million years and the Earth has never increased in temperature at such a quick rate over such a small period of time before.

I'm convinced the whole climate change thing is being funded by rich globalists that want to redistribute power and wealth with middle class tax payer money. I have yet to come across any other reasonable explanation.

I agree many academics have their heads up their asses, but what we're arguing for is ruining the air, earth and water needed to sustain life. Does it surprise you that studies that go against it are almost entirely funded by gas and oil? Why should we not be striving for better efficiency and more cost effective solutions that can also sustain the biosphere for longer? Do so many people really want the world to have an atmosphere like Beijing or LA?
