what a stupid thread. What's the story here? A policeman doing his job? A public servicewoman getting pulled over? Or are you trying to start some kind of race thing?

pure stupidity

Prety much a racebait. The cop got startled to see someone that is in a postion to make his life a living hell and just tried to act calm but failed.

Well she didn't complain...

Also when he ran her tags they probably didn't show up for confidentiality reasons considering she's a high profile figure in government there.

He probably thought he ****ed up because he ran a tag on something seemingly off (it not showing up) and realized it was the state attorney.

I'm amazed that people think there is anything wrong here. Police run plates all the time, if I see a cop behind me in traffic I'm assuming that he's running my plates.
Imagine you're a cop you run a cars plates and it comes back empty instead of with the usual info, that is more than enough reason enough for you to investigate more.
Officer actually explained himself pretty clearly, and if anything that state attorney is on a power trip.

Also this. Her body language, voice tonality and facial expressions say it all. If the cop that stopped her was black she probably wouldnt have been such a cnt about it
Cops target those that are least likely to be able to defend themselves. That group typically is comprised of people of color. There's been many tests to prove that. Please don't ever say anything like that again.

And if you run a plate and don't get a return, like in this situation, you still want to check it out regardless of who is driving. It could have no return for a variety of reasons and a law abiding citizen could have had their plates switched without them knowing or something like that. Seen it happen.

Yes. All the time. It's how you find stolen vehicles on the road, or people with warrants, or vehicles with warrants, or law abiding citizens that had their license plate stolen and switched. Extremely common. When I am working and driving around the city, I am running all the random plates I see because you never know what you will find. It's good proactive policing. If something comes up with no return,it's worth the 5 minutes it takes to pull them over and do a little investigation.
Worth it to whom?

Seem like that attitude applied to the cop before it did the attorney.

This is pretty simple.

State the reasonable suspicion for the stop. Ask to see registration and license. Say have a good day.

Not a cop but have friends that are. Sometimes they run tags on cars just to ensure there isn't anything tied to it. Warrant, bolo, etc. I have illegal tint cause where I live it's sunny as fuark and also, it looks fukkin cool. So I'll deal with the backlash of illegal tint if needed. Been pulled over for it and given a warning, have received a ticket for speeding and nothing for the tint. Officer said it looked cool.

See what I mean? It's easy to say "nothing even happened", because yeah luckily nothing did. But if it had happened, like it has before, these types of stops can be scrutinized as things that should have never occurred in the first place. It's like people getting arrested for nothing and then charged with resisting arrest. Make legit stops or expect to be scrutinized by the people that pay your taxes. Don't forget you're a public servant and if your video/dashcam is available to the public, then not everyone is going to agree with your line of thinking
Lol this. I think the BLM cause is a terrorist organization and dont agree with many of the causes the rioters get behind, but some of these stories coming out now cannot be defended and its amazing to watch people blindly defend the police killing citizens.

The funnier part is the people who always defend the poilice using force are the same ones who whine about "big government", like an overbearing police state on the local level is not the largest form of big government there is....

Policing today needs to be rethought. Most areas need around half the cops that are on duty to be "crime free." Most police officers sit around and look for petty crimes that they can ticket for. Its all about making $$$ for the state. I dont blame cops, it is a government issue, but needs to be addressed because its not good for most citizens.

No such thing.

All tags are registered by state/fed. All tags are open to police officers. There are some govie vehicles that have no tags, but they are pretty recognizable to leo's

How does the process work? Do you manually have to enter the license plate or do you have some sort of app where you can just scan the license plate from a distance with your phone camera and it returns the info directly?
