Thanks bro. Good advice. Parking is an extra $400/month for me. Will have to consider.

I was sitting in the center of the train with my head down. From now on I'll adopt a more defensive position and maintain a better awareness of the people around me. I'm also going to carry a knife (wouldn't have helped me today since I wasn't paying attention and the guy ran away anyway) in case I'm attacked by someone more determined to continue the attack. I wish I could carry a gun, but, you know, DC laws.

First time I've ever been attacked. Definitely feels like I'm in a new world now. I'm thankful for the people around me who were helpful, but I certainly need to have my guard up going forward.

why do you care? an assault has occurred and OP needs to tell his story on this thread regarding location, what type of attacker, time, and speculate the reason why he got socked in the first place.


Since he gave the description of 25 black and one white guy, this is a start. Also, it really doesn't help out there's the unspoken rule of "don't snitch" because with sad things like this happens, its hard to get anywhere since everyone wants to turn a blind eye when they were inches in front of the scene.

Sit where no one can get behind you, and listen to audio books instead of reading, preferably with one ear bud left out so you can hear stuff. That way you won't be distracted, someone can't sit behind you, and you'll still be able to "read."
