A friend of mine just messaged me not too long ago and told me this was his weekend:

- Got his car washed early morning Saturday
- Drove back stopping at supermarket
- Bought a bunch of rotter snacks (sweet chilli peanuts, crisps, cake bars, pizza) and a crate of 10 beers
- Spent his entire saturday drinking beer and watching TV series alone from noon until 10pm having a beer every hour
- Slept until 10am
- Cooked a full English breakfast
- Went back to sleep
- Woke up and watched Boiler Room
- Ordered an Indian take-away and had it with an entire bottle of white wine
- Watched a Poker documentary
- And now he's going back to bed at 10pm to wake up 6am for work on Monday

I thought I was a rotter, but atleast I leave the house and go for runs/hikes/drives on weekends. I don't really drink, but wanted to know if it's normal for people to literally sit at home and drink all day on Saturday and then sleep/recover on Sunday?

That's the British lifestyle though.

Let's not blow this chit out of proportion. Just making a laid back thread about what people are drinking this Sunday afternoon.

I wasn't judging tbh. I know he works very hard as an engineer, especially because it's maintenance season. Probably just a blowout after an extremely stressful week. But I was wondering if it was normal to drink that much alone on a Saturday?

If he went out to town and had 10 pints at the pub watching football and boxing, I wouldn't have bat an eyelid. But it seems like a lot sitting at home just watching TV all day, doesn't it?

Love me some TRUE UK-imported cadbury chocolates. My wife loves them as well. In Canada you need to pay extra for the British imported ones. Otherwise, you get the "Cadbury" US-made crap.

Options white chocolate is surprisingly nice. Are you on that sober time?

I've been drinking this recently. Most of these powdered sachet drinks are too sweet and not goat. But this one is pretty nice, would recommend/10

If you drink 10 pints at the pub on a regular basis or drink whole bottles of wine by yourself, you have an alcohol problem in my book.

Why are you drinking a monster on a Sunday night? I have drank Monster for about 2 weeks in my life and that was when I was studying for my Masters. I don't think it should be for any other purpose other than all nighters. Not even for mixing with alcohol in clubs. It is truly sickly stuff and terrible for your body/heart. Honestly baffles me when I see people drinking energy drinks daily!

just got a new MIIR growler so went to fill it up and found out my local market district does 2 dollars off for having your own growler and 2 dollars off happy hour so currently sipping on dogfish head pumpkin ale which cost me $6 to fill a nice 64oz from the tap.

Not sure if srs.

Meet for brunch, have 1 pint.

Watch a football match, have 3 pints.

Go for a curry, have 2 pints.

Head to a casino to watch Boxing, have 2 pints.

Head to a bar, have 2 pints.

Noon to midnight - what part of that is alcoholic? That's a great day out with the boys/girls

I'd say if you had a couple of tequila's with Lime or vodka shots mixed with Diet Coke finishing 3am and went to a club afterwards, on top of the 10 pints, that still wouldn't be anywhere near alcoholic level.

Alcoholic level is binge drinking, regularly, alone, to cope with personal problems. Not having a blast with friends on a Saturday night when there's a couple of events in town...

I think you missed the "regular basis" part. Britain has one of the biggest drinking culture in the world. Not surprised if having 10 pints on the reg does not mean chit to you.

Or maybe that's just British humor lol.

To be honest, my commute to my job paying exactly $97,000 a year is approx 15 minutes drive from my 4 bedroom house.

Seriously, kid. Grow up. How sad of a kunt are you to turn what I intended to be a positive thread to such a negative vibe? Get a fuking life.

You're wrong, and what you are describing eventually becomes "binge drinking, regularly, alone, to cope with personal problems."

Coffee atm, woke up late due to playing games later than I meant to.

Gonna hit the gym for shoulders, maybe abs if they're not sore, and some cardio.

Maybe get Mexican food on the way back, or eat groceries, haven't decided yet.

After working out I'll probs pick up some combination of the below:

-Bud Light Platinum
-Natty Ice
-Mike's Harder
-Michelob Ultra

Should be back 1-2 hours before the Cowboys game.
