Yeah, I'd say it's pretty overrated too. Their french fries are pretty good though.

5 Guys is 3x the price of In n Out, so it should be considerably better. But it isn't.

No self respecting burger connoisseur will speak of Five guys as a worthy burger.

In London they've managed to pop up in every highstreet. Clearly a better choice than McDonald's but no... Just average stuff.

Don't get me wrong the burger wasn't bad. Fries were good, too. It's just that Five Guys had such a reputation, people talking about great food it all is, but it's really just overpriced and pretty ordinary. I'd rather save about $5 or so and get a burger + fries thatmightnot taste as good, but still be a better overall value.

A tiny Paris burger chain called "Big Fernand" just opened up a location in London a little over a year ago. Go there ASAP and you can rep me later. Their fries aren't chit but you will bust multiple nuts eating one of their burgers. they pack a metric **** ton of flavor into average size burgers. fukin cringe ass 'muricans piling a pound of chit between two buns and think they're eating something.

five guys is all over DC, and what makes it tasty is the 80 percent ground beef and endless toppings. For 8.50 I can enjoy a very heavy filling bacon cheeseburger and be stuffed.
I tried in and out while visiting family in Cali and I was very underwhelmed. No toppings, plain flavor profile. All of this burger war stuff depends on your flavor profile preferences.

Their fries are on point. I would go to 5 Guys just for the fries alone. Burgers are ok compared to homemade, but better than Mcd's/BK/Wendys imo.

I agree that you can get the same quality burger by making one yourself at home. Having said that, if you're not ordering your burger with all the toppings on it, you're fuking up. The toppings are what makes their burgers good.

I say the same thing about Papa John's whenever people complain about their pizza tasting like cardboard. If you're ordering cheese or pepperoni pizza, you're missing out. Need to get the works and dip your crust in the garlic sauce.

Yeah, the toppings are what make the burger, mostly. There is some drive-in nearby where I get a hot cheeseburger + toasted bun, and the toppings and condiments are ice cold. GOAT way to fix up a burger, imo.

Just lol@people saying Smashburger is better, that place is dead 24/7 in my area.

Five Guys is a little overrated, especially since their fries are chit but their double cheeseburger with bacon, sauteed onions and mushrooms is hnnnnng. Freddys is getting really popular here, they make a solid burger but their fries are 100X better than 5 Guys and on par with In-n-Out

As far as places available nationwide, Id have to agree with the guy who said Red Robin, its more expensive but they've got great burgers.

I personally like Red Mill burgers, but it's a smaller place. I think there's only 3 of them
You have Red Robin, Burgermaster, and Bob's Burgers and Brew. Tons of good burgers near Seattle. I lived in Everett for 5 years.
