Uni gym isn't bad. Lots of tools and frat stars but there's some hbbs to mire and hooking up with 2 from the gym. Trying to at least work up the courage to talk to 2 more. I go in the morning to avoid the crowds that come with our uni gym and never have a problem getting on equipment. I actually really enjoy working out a lot but not really into the fitness lifestyle with all of the clothes and dieting down to really low BF and chit.

I say yes, but then days like yesterday happen where everyone and their mother wanted to talk. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind some friendly chatting in the gym but when its anyone and everyone it can affect your workout. Especially when its a fukn Advocare sales pitch blitz.
However I like to workout in a gym where everyone is bigger/stronger because it motivates me to pass them.

Working out at gyms at normal times blows massive horsekock. Can't move around in the dumbbell area because you have Cindy Sloot taking ass pics and Autismo Cringington doing karate, with jeans on, in the mirror. Then when I go to the squat rack there is a group of five wannabes tag-teaming bench press at 135 lbs. This is why I only work out at the crack of dawn or at like 8 pm.

Working out at the gym in the morning is the way to do it. Everyone is putting work in so it's motivating, you don't have to step on people's toes and vice versa, and tons of variety. I could never do home workouts because it feels non-motivating. Never tried it though

yeah i do. but also i go to a uni gym. so most people arent that weird and know what theyre doing. also hbb's.
i could imagine hating to go to the gym if people didnt know what theyre doing, hogging machines, smell bad etc.
low key seeing other people work out motivates you and pumping iron to make people mire is motivating as well. having "an audience" def subconsiously help. especially if there are HBBs

Don't need a gym to motivate me, and I'd much rather save time by going to a home gym.

Given that I work for a living (and not in my own home), I prefer to work out in a gym. I negotiated something with my current boss that allows me to take longer lunch breaks to get my workouts done. Can get to the gym in 2 minutes, change, workout, shower, change back (suit crew) and be back at work in 1.5 hours.
If I was retired I guess I would still want to go to the gym - I'm not that social there but I met some guys from the local IFBB chapter and it's really motivating somehow to be working out at the same time.

I had a game plan; move out of house, save up and buy a home gym - getting piece by piece as I go.
I had all you could ever need - the problem was I moved too often and the owner wasn't too keen on me having a home gym for a bedroom.
I eventually moved into a house where I couldn't even use my stuff, so I had to go to the gym and all my friends treat was unused. Then I moved country, and had to sell EVERYTHING. Bloody hell, what a waste of money that was.
Would love a home gym again, I just love being able to put 45 minutes or so aside for exercise and have no travelling involved between starting and stopping.

I do it because I like the benefits that come from working out and you always feel good after a having a good workout. But the actual act of lifting weights is really not that much fun. People always go on about how much they LOVE working out. What they love are the effects (looking/feeling good, getting stronger, more confident etc...) How many people would still bust their asses day in and day out if those benefits didn't exist?
