- Fight Club. Couldn't even get through the first 10 minutes.
- The Big Lebowski. Way overrated.
- Napoleon Dynamite. Never had even the slightest bit of interest in seeing it.
- Game of Thrones. Looks like some crap written by a reddit neckbeard, so not interested.

TV Series: Can't get into the Walking Dead. I'm not entirely sure why it got so hyped up. That and Friends. People love Friends and it's 90% trash and 10% Anistons nips ( the only 10% that I enjoy).

Movies: I never got all the hype for the Hunger Games and personally I couldn't get into the Godfather (the standalone Godfather movie nor any of the sequels). It just didn't do it for me.

For me, it taps into a nostalgia of youth in an incredibly powerful way. No matter what you do with your life and regardless of how you may measure your own success, when we come to the end, our minds will be drawn to our moments of happiness, which for many are childhood. It's a very affecting film, which is how I judge masterpieces: did the film change me?

I know for most they probably won't care, but I also marvel the technical merit. Everyone with a deep understanding of filmmaking is amazed by the lighting techniques Welles deploys.

It's also written in such a seamless way, the audience drifts along with Joseph Cotton, going from place to place and person to person in a detective story -- it's a great parallel to the film's central message of how we too often focus on the things in life that don't matter.

Lastly, I'd say it's often judged by the wrong audience because of the lofty praise by critics. It's not surprising to me that a general audience from today would find it boring. There are hundreds of films I love that I wouldn't recommend to friends -- because they're old or foreign, w/e. And my friends don't go and seek those out because they're not interested. With Kane, even though they're also not interested, they seek it out because they feel they're supposed to watch it, and that's never a good reason to sit down to watch a film.

In fairness to you, TWD fell off a cliff after season 2. I was a religious watcher back then, but only watched out of commitment until season 6, then just abandoned the series. It's almost unwatchable now.

Breaking Bad and The Sopranos

Both are highly overrated. Breaking Bad is legit just a depressing show, and not as well written as people claim. Sopranos had a great premise, but was just boring 99% of the time. People rag on Walking Dead for slow moment, but Sopranos was a snoozefest its whole run.

Older shows like ER, and Mash were overrated.
