wait, how is it you have to be punished? Go to the professor and tell him whats going on. I'm sure he'll make an exception or give you an extension since its outside of your control.

If not, go to the head of the department and tell them your story and if THEY don't listen go to the Dean of Admissions and ask for a refund for the class, and if he won't do that, take the University yo small claims court.

Intredasting. Neither side is really in the wrong imo. I don't see anything wrong with skipping class, it's your money. But if she wants to be partnered with someone who actually shows up, there's nothing wrong with that either.
