Explain the simple concept to me then...are we talking about wind drag and resistance? Is there something astronomically more difficult? Would play 45 mins of soccer or rugby in school clothes pretty much daily at that kids age so no, I don't understand that simple concept.

You mean there's a difference between playing soccer with all your friends in the rain vs. being forced to run to school in the rain while other kids probably point and laugh? Does the term "context" mean anything to you? Or just nah?

Same here. And just food for thought. When NZ All Blacks have a match, the one's who don't play have a conditioning session on the game field after the match. The NFL union allows very little conditioning in practice. Just fyi.

My point is running as a punishment is barely anything imo as we used to run to school, run in the rain etc consistently.

Running to school is a punishment for the soyboy generation. If I was being "punished" like that back in my day no one would even give a fukk n people would be running with me.

If I had a kid was such a beta that he'd be worried about kids laughing at him running in the rain I'd abort him at age 10 no fukks given.

Real punishment for a 10 year old is hard manual labour for a couple of weeks. Build a shed and put a patio down, das it mane.

Heh. Our highschool coaches would make us do suicide sprints for every yellow card we got, and five if it was a red card. After the match. Cleaned up our penalty problems really quickly.

Anything is a punishment if you're withholding any kind of privilege. Previously, that kid had the privilege of being driven to school. Running a mile or two isn't the end of the world but if you're used to getting up and being driven to school, this is definitely an appropriate punishment.

Guess that Badass is just too awesome to accept this as punishment and would have the Dad make him run while being chased by hungry wolves or while being shot at by the Dad from his car or some other moronic "look how badass *I* am" kind of idiocy.

Again, for those of you who aren't parents, no offense but don't pretend to know everything.

Rules for Parents on Punishment:
- Be consistent: Don't be lazy, make sure they know that everytime they **** up -- they will always be punished, otherwise they will simply gamble.
- Be quick: Don't wait a week and then do something. Do it then and there so they get the point.
- Be appropriate: Don't beat your kid for getting up 5 minutes late and don't simply take away their dessert if you catch them with crack. Whatever the crime, make the punishment appropriate for it. Not too little, not too much.

Kids are driven to school and are pussies, they don't run or walk to school like the old days.

If running a mile is such a big deal in todays society with him breaking the norm of being driven around everywhere like some diva then USA is fukked.

Nothing badass about thinking running a mile isn't much punishment. Punishment in the average gym class would be worse...although maybe not in todays society as kids can't be made an example of without "muh feelings"

I literally can't get past this point, it's too funny to me and if we had it your way we'd just revert back to pre-industrial times. Kids are pussies because their parents drive them to school? What's the cut-off for not being a pussy? Like if they live 10 miles from school, should they run then, too? 5 miles? 2 miles? What's your acceptable cut-off for kids not being pussies by graciously accepting rides from their parents or the school bus?

The fact that you can't see why one kid being singled out by his dad and being forced to run in the rain to school while everyone else is being driven, and then arriving at school soaking wet is punishment is hilarious. Like you're trying so hard to appear tough and rugged and it really just comes off as a huge toolbag.
