To look big in 2018 you have to have a lot of muscle

It depends on a lot of things, such as how you're dressed, if you wear fitted clothing and have a decent amount of mass you'll look like you lift. Then again if you are 220+ you can throw on a blanket and still look like you lift.
Being shredded does absolutely nothing if you have a shirt on.

a 200lbs 6 ft guy who lifts is going to look bigger than an untrained 6 ft 230lbs male, because he will have mass in the right places (i.e shoulders, chest etc) and be tight in the waist.
Dumb thread is dumb.

Hypertrophy days are easier since high volume doesn't require weight resistance...just reps so anything over 5 db's doesn't matter. At least that's what I read here LOL...you get the exact same results DB rowing 15's for 15 as you do rowing 100's so why waste the energy?

People always estimate me to be 230lbsish, yet i'm about 200 (i'm 6'3). Bone structure etc plays a massive part, so i don't think it's as simple as OP makes out. I get better results in terms of mass from high reps.
I deadlift 605lbs and squat 495lbs so i'm not as strong as you, but i'm not exactly weak

I stated this a while back but I will stop saying that people need to lift heavy to gain mass when people stop saying that someone who is 15% bf is fat...I train both high reps with heavy weight. That's what works for me.

6'2 225lb stud checking in, sry to make you insecure OP. I agree though, lean does not necessarily mean you look bigger, I prefer to stick around 15% bf.

You can look big while lean or shredded to the general population anyway. Just wear tight fitted shirts and jeans. Any lifter will probably call you small but who gives a chit. Never bloatmaxxing ever again in my life

who the fk cares?
you think anyone is impressed by your massive fatceps? or anyone is afraid of you because you outweigh them? so much of the population is overweight, and unless you're really built, chances are you just look like any other fat guy in clothes, and wildly unimpressive shirtless.
if your goal is to impress 40 year old miscers, then bloat away, if you wanna get laid, stfu and accept the shredz
your insecurities don't mean jack sh-t to 99% of the population, if you're lean with some decent muscle you'll look impressive regardless, if you actually manage to get shredded and tan, das it, you won over pretty much everyone. go out into the world and fu-k off Instagram for a minute

The average lifter that is 220+ is bloated af. The bloated guy will look bigger regardless if he is wearing a shirt or not. Smaller guys just look better.

depending on bodyfat distribution it is very possible to have semi visible abs at 12%+, I had a full six pack and semi striation in my midsection at 13%. We can't also forget that people fraud stats all the time...

bro if you have any decent muscle mass, you will have abs showing up at 15% unless you hold all your fat in your gut. I am starting to get ab visibility at 17%.
