I checked it out and it seems there are still tours going on, but they're doing construction so part of it is closed off.

View the Golden Gate bridge, the view from Crissy Fields is nice and a romantic walk or Fort Point if you like military ****

Union Square
Catch a Giants game duh, tickets are cheap
Graffiti Art all over Mission district
Chinatown is nice and the food is good, Dimsum is a must
Twin peaks for view of the city
For more views of the city Coit Tower
Fo some stairs if you want some good views of the city pemberton steps or filbert street steps
If you want to go for a hike there is Glen Canyon Park and Bay Ridge Trail
If its the season you can catch a boat to go whale watching
If you like tourism attractions there is the Alcatraz tour, theres night tours inside of it as well if you prefer that ambiance
oh yeah the street that full house is filmed on, you can also rent a gokart and do the circuit and windy road (Lombard Street)
Last but not least Pier 39/fishermans wharf, check the place out and take your girl for a nice seafood dinner and walk around.

hong kong lounge II for dimsum
A16 for Neapolitan pizza
Roam Artisan for burgers
for ice cream Mitchelles or Garden Creamery

Wasn't really restaurant savvy when I went there, but make sure you bring a jacket or something, it's cold as hell, and go see the golden gate bridge, at least once, worth it just to say you did it.

Went last year, visited a place called Brewcade which is a bar filled with old-school arcade games and pinball machines, was pretty fun. Also a very subtle rum bar called Smugglers Cove, multi level with an indoor mini waterfall/feature. Has HEAPS of different rums including a bunch of rare ones and a tiki bar downstairs to try some different things, was pretty dope.

I went around Thanksgiving last year and did a lot of the touristy stuff:

-Smitten Ice Cream is really cool (made with nitrogen in front of you) and delicious. Definitely worth a try.
-Alcatraz is awesome. I suggest going earlier in the day so you have plenty of time and definitely do the headphone tour of the prison. It's guided by actual inmates.
-Haight Ashbury has a lot of hippie culture chit going on. I did a walking tour that was pretty boring. I wouldn't suggest it unless you're into that sort of thing.
-If you're into wine, I'd take a Napa/Sonoma wine tour via bus. I did the "Napa and Sonoma Wine Country Tour" and thought it was pretty well done. Seems to be one of the highest rated/most popular ones.
-Muir Woods is really cool for hiking. Redwoods, lots of hills, greenery, and some wildlife. I would definitely check this out--just bring your walking shoes.
-I love seafood so we ate at Fisherman's Wharf multiple times. You really can't go wrong at most of these places if you're into seafood. Looks like you aren't (your loss!). Check out Pier 39 to see the sea lions.
-China Town is worth a walk-thru. Beware the smelly chicken parts.
-If you're into baseball (or even if you aren't), the Giants play in probably the coolest stadium ever built.
-The Palace of FIne Arts is really cool. If you're into architecture, you should check this building and grounds out.

Couple sightseeing recommendations would be Twin Peaks and the Presidio Military bunkers

Here's Twin Peaks at night. I believe you can access the area until 12am. Great spots for some pictures.

Forget house of prime ribs. Come across the bridge to Oakland. Night life should be poppin out here in the downtown part.

Go to Gogi Time or Ohgane and have a blast grilling as much meats/seafood/vegetables as you’d like. Also appetizers/soups/condiments. All you can eat for $30

For burgers and shakes, I hear gotts roadside is really good. There’s one in Walnut Creek. Very nice outdoor shopping area if you want to walk around and hit on a bunch of foreigners.

Try some dim sum anywhere in the Bay Area. Only have a couple go tos, one in San Leandro and another in Alameda.

You should definitely check out Alameda and head down park st. Lots of bars and restaurants, or you can go hang out by the beach.

Damn twin peaks looks beautiful, but another spot for a nice view is all the way up on the fish ranch road exit. It’s called “grizzly peak”. Really nice spot to check out Berkeley/Oakland/SF. Also some nice trails there as well.

Lifelong CA resident, would definitely go to the wharf even if you dont like seafood, tons of great people watching spots, and boyo there are some straight weirdos in the city. Also like someone else mentioned you should go check out brewcade, veeeery old arcade games, im talking stuff from the the early 1900’s.

Chinatown is always pretty cool, but my gavorite place by far and has already been mentioned is Alcatraz. Hands down the top thing you should see on your visit. If youre into museums and the sort the CA academy of science in golden gate park is pretty sweet, lots of cool things to do and see there, its an interactive museum.

Most of the the touristy spots have been mentioned, lombard st, fishermans wharf, alcatraz, golden gate bridge, etc. but they are all that is good about the city, have a good time OP, have a bowl of clam chowder at Boudins on the pier, hands down my favorite place to eat.

You're visiting family that live there breh... won't they have some recommendations?

We honeymooned in Napa then SF - did the touristy stuff like the wharf, Lombard street etc. Alcatraz is really cool if you like history, and the trolley cars have a depot that has a museum and lets you see the machinery that powers them, we both really liked that. Seeing the Redwoods over in Muir Woods was awesome, it's just over the bridge. We ate in China Town nearly every day - I don't remember names but insanely good food and most of it very cheap. A buddy out there told me about a restaurant called The Stinking Rose that is all about garlic - I had the 40 garlic clove chicken and it was delicious. Mrs B is a lucky lady let me tell you. Then in the evenings you can catch an Uber over to the Castro and see how many dudes poles you can smoke before your jaw locks up. G/L ******* I believe in you!

Take a detour to Muir Woods if you like nature. Battery Spencer, Sutro Baths, Point Reyes are also cool locations.

AT&T park is insanely nice. Even if you don't like baseball, you'll have a good time.
