The driver is surrounded by a mob, his life and his passenger's life (could be a family member) are potentially at risk and is trying to get away. Are you drunk? How on gods earth is that attempted murder?

Not only that, but the way he drove off afterwards (specifically after he was notified they would be reporting an assault which they had videotaped (where he drove forward slowly). He could be charged under hit and run laws as well. The law is pretty clear on this, and you know I'm right.

The lawyers for the driver of the car can easily say their client feared for their life. Cops get away with it all the time.

Now, obstructing traffic is a crime. So, you are supposed to wait for police to come and break it up. If they peacefully block you, you are to sit there with your windows rolled up and doors locked. If someone attempts to smash windows, and a reasonable person in your situation would fear imminent harm, then you are authorized to use whatever REASONABLE force necessary to escape the situation. That means driving forward slowly enough, turning away from the obstructing person, spam honking, and not flooring it.

(LOL at his sloot leaning out of the window and talking chit.) They were just blocking him. He should have waited for the police. He proceeded to commit at the very least assault and battery with a deadly weapon if not attempted murder. He also committed a hit and run. The law is very clear on this. Not in all the sates

It sets a legal precedent. It would be the burden of the driver to prove their actions were necessary to preserve life.

""The charges stem from the efforts of the defendant to block traffic on Interstate 70. Templeton is accused of punching the victim as our victim attempted to drive past the defendant. The victim suffered an injury as a result," said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCulloch in a statement released with the charges. "Ferrell kicked the victim's car as she passed causing nearly $5,000 in damage.""
It doesn't apply here. Those guys were aggressively attacking the guy's car and him. He was in imminent danger. That being said, it looks like nothing further occurred regarding the case shown in the video. The woman apparently suffered no serious injuries. And I am guessing the prosecutors decided not to go ahead with it. But just based on what I saw, I can tell you the guy 100% violated multiple laws.
My advice (not legal, but purely opinion) to anyone if they are ever in such a situation is to roll up the windows, lock the doors, and remain calm. Do not attempt to antagonize the protesters who are blocking traffic (don't lean out the window and talk chit), and do not attempt to run them over. Call the police and tell them they are obstructing traffic and preventing you from leaving. Attempt to leave the area without injuring anyone, and if that is not possible, just wait. If the protesters are visibly getting violent and start attacking your car, slowly accelerate and turn to minimize as much damage to protesters (and yourself) as possible. Spam your horn, and take REASONABLE actions to minimize risk of damage to yourself as well as the protesters. Do not floor it. Do not take it as a free pass to run over as many people as you can. If you hit ANYONE, do not attempt to flee the scene in your car. Remain in the general vicinity, and call the police and tell them what happened so that you can make it clear to police that you did not intend to flee, but were merely trying to escape being attacked.
If you do what the guy did in the video, you can expect criminal and civil consequences.

Looks like the driver waited until that hamplanet was out of the way before accelerating, otherwise it would have been a direct hit

I can't believe they would run over that heavenly blessed babe. If I was there I would rush to her rescue and perhaps ask her to the movie hehe.

Wouldve been better if the hamplanet flipped onto the hood and went for a ride.
Mob around my car I'd mash the pedal out of there too. You never know who is going to pull out a gun.

If you stand in front of traffic in a protest it's a power play where death is very possible, that's what makes it so bold. IMO I don't think there's anything wrong with ramming through street blocking crowds, because that's what they signed up for.
just because there were angry protesters around shouting at him doesn't mean he was under a high risk of death. nobody pulled out a weapon or something like that, and nobody damaged the car.
as I see it, the fat bitch is a retard sure, but the driver was a retard too for not realizing the consequences of what he did. there's almost no chance he walks away from this without a felony possibly for attempted murder

They'll get assault if their lucky.

there lawyers for the fatty could say there were other options (for example reverse or slowly accelerating) and the way he did it demonstrates intent to kill. maybe it works maybe it doesn't but he's getting charged with something almost certainly
