I think those ford v8's, or even all ford v8's in general make chitty low end torque. What is the point of having a v8 if you need to rev it to the moon to get moving? Might as well drive a honda then, at least you'll have reliability and mpg's.

I remember one time i was merging on the highway and i see an idiot mustang in the lane i was going to be in started to accelerate because he didn't want me to merge and get in front of him so i dropped a gear and absolutely crushed the merging lane and not only was able to merge successfully, but i merged and put school buses on him. He switched to the middle lane and did a fly by about 20 seconds later lol. Took him long enough.

Corvettes are nice I'll admit. But they are for mid life crisis balding fat men.

Mustangs are for soccer moms or mid 30's dad bod "bros" that wear affliction t-shirts and bad religion jeans.

Subarus are for teenage girls and boys with stupid parents. They always have exhausts and COBB tuning stickers and none of them can actually drive. Subarus sound like chit and they are a dime a dozen. I'm pretty sure their bottom end can only handle 450-500 ish hp without having to be fully built.

Back in the day when "fast" street cars were rare, yeah that was the comparison for sure. "Oh my car is faster than a liter bike. I beat an R6 today" etc.

But these days there are so many factory freaks, that all you have to say now is "my car is faster than a 720S, or faster than a GT2RS". etc

Bikes are awesome. I'm a rider myself but bikes have their own place on the road. My car can beat bikes for sure. Not all bikes but it's fast enough to take down a lot of bikes. And it doesn't take much skill to go in a straight line in a bike. Balls yes definitely. Not skill. If you look up videos of cars racing bikes, 90% of them are kids with t-shirts and shorts racing 1500hp cars. So that's stupidity and balls, not skill.

And you're right about corvettes being a mid life crisis car, they will always be labeled as that. But that doesn't mean they aren't good cars.

The C7 looks nothing like the C6 generation. The C7 has actually targeted the younger crowd already. I said it before that in my NNJ "corvette club" if you wanna even call it that, there's only 1 old dude, and he's 42 or something. The rest are kids in their 20s. I'm in my 30s.

And none of us are bald or fat. The 40 year old has a full set of hair. And he's as skinny as a telephone pole.

The sad part about corvettes is that with the C8 coming, will be even more money than the C7 so unfortunately that will still entertain a lot of older guys, because they have money. It will interest the younger crowd for sure, but they won't have the funds to buy one.

Either way i can't wait to get the mid engine corvette. I hope it comes soon.

I agree with some points but not others.

First, I am a huge fan of vettes don't get me wrong. I love them no doubt!

Secondly, Powerful bikes do take skill to race in a straight line. You should know that if you're a rider.

1. Bikes are hard to race from a dig because it takes experience and skill to launch without wheely-ing or spinning out. (remember you only have 1 tire that's less than half the width of car tires to use for traction, instead of the 2 fat tires that cars are able to have.)

2. The front end of powerful bikes will always want to come up during WOT.

3. Even though bikes are powerful and have great power to weight ratio, it's imperative that your shifts are not only fast, but timed just right. Litre bikes have a broader power band than 600's, but you still need to be high in the revs when shifting and it needs to remain in the high rpm powerband.

4. Bikes (despite what most people think) have horrible drag coefficient. You have to be tucked just right in order to beat a powerful car beyond 145mph.
Past that speed, most bikes tend to lose steam (especially if you aren't tucked right). Even the bikes with the best drag coefficient (Hayabusa and ZX-14) still don't hold a candle to the aerodynamics of most high end performance cars like lambo's porsches' etc..

5. Being at speed on a supersport bike can really fuk with your senses of distance. You have to be able to brake hard when needed and weave in and out of traffic effectively if needed. This is where most riders do in fact die. A bike only has 1 skinny ass tire for braking, so it is nothing like driving a car.

So yes, while bikes have an insane power to weight ratio and have the capability to beat most cars, it doesn't mean it will happen without some experience and skill.

While everything you said is true any moron can hop on a 600 and wax about 98% of cars on the road from a roll. Especially mustang's and subarus like you were bragging about. Also curious in your opinion what cars you'd suggest in the 25-30 range since subies and stangs are so ****gy.

See that's the thing though.

When cars race bikes, they are almost never from a dig lol. People take them on the highway and go from a roll, 60-150 etc. In which, like my car, and bikes (mostly liter bikes) only need to change gears twice in that MPH range. My 3rd gear at redline ends at 130mph. And i have enough torque to start the race at 60 in 3rd. So i only need to change gear once, racing anyone from 60-150. Same case could be applied to a liter bike.

That's the all more reason why cars these days can beat bikes, for every reason you said. The aero, the way the front wheel wants to come up, changing gears. While obviously it takes a little skill to get on an actual bike and ride, it takes more balls and stupidity to want to race them on public highways to race cars. LIke you said, being at speed on a bike. More balls less skill. Anyone could hop on a bike and go WOT in full tuck, anyone straight from an MSF course could accomplish this. That's what i did when i got my license, was max out the bikes i first got. Starting from a chitty ninja 250. It was stupid me doing that, doesn't mean i was skillful. I had just got my M license.

In a car, you actually have to control it as well. When you punch the throttle, you have to worry about the rear end getting loose.And the more power your car has, the worse it can be. Then you still have to worry about getting it sideways when you shift. These roads aren't prepped for these shenanigans.

Love the 350s and most 60s model Shelbys. The history with Shelby coming to Ford purely to win races is pretty cool.

But the whole Mustang saga tagging on the back of the T-Birds purely to use racing as a gimmick to sell cars sort of puts Ford as just another average mass market ordinary car manufacturer in my eyes. Luckily I'm Australian and GM's stupid marketing rules of the 70's made them ever worse.
