Don’t even care. Just evolved my Charizard until it was super high. All the rest of my party was like level 30, had like a level 85 Charizard using fire moves on water and rock Pokémon and still kicking their butts.

Picking Pokemon based off of how "cool" they look is completely feminine. Your objective should be to field the best lineup.

Blastoise vs. Venasaur is debatable. Charizard is weak vs. most of the Gyms and Elite 4. He is also easily replaceable by other Fire Types like Arcanine who are better. Venasaur has the best type-casting as your choices for Grass types in Gen 1 are pretty slim, making him only rivaled by Exeggutor (who only challenges because he also has Psychic typing). Venasaur also has the most diverse move-pool as he can heal himself.

It's called a challenge m8. Picking a pokemon because it makes the game easier, because it has a favourable type and you don't have to think or work as hard is pure LTC.
