Thought it was bullchit too, until I did it for a week. Slept better than I have literally in years, skin looked brighter and more clear, and had more energy. Also lost like 15 lbs in 4 weeks. It wasn’t really sustainable for me, because eating a completely different diet than the rest of my family puts a damper on things, but I took some principles away from it that have helped me a lot. Jordan definitely isn’t the first person to report this kind of stuff either.

Outside of nutrition. Toddlers also naturally squat when they want to chit. Why? Because it unkinks the colon and allows chit to pass much easier. As adults we're habitually trained to use the toilet which causes health problems. Kids also naturally slouch. Why? Because it's actually more ergonomical to flatten out than it is to sit up straight with your entire upper body pressing on your lumbar.
lol, not sure if serious. My mouth salivates when I look at candy, are you saying that said physiological response indicates that candy is healthy? Vegetables are plentiful on the earth, and so are fruits, they have various minerals that allow one to function more optimally.

eat anything natural in moderation.i'll agree that processed chit goes outside of what we were biologically predetermined to eat, but to say that vegetables aren't healthy based on whether or not you salivate for them is just silly

He makes some good points, some are just way out there though. Now he let fame go to his head and is another self-help guru.

Just because you agree with someone on a few things doesn't mean you endorse that person's entire perspective.

I mean if you have an auto-immune disorder or something I could see it being beneficial.

His daughter was on Rogan trying to promote it, she's kind of a headcase. She also forgot to mention she still gets drunk while on the carnivore diet.

It indicates a physiological desire and recognition of what provides calories. Hence why bowl of ice cream and a steak in most people creates a very noticeable response ... meanwhile ... a salad (almost no calories) does not. Stop trying to straw man.

I did it for a while eating just steak. Before I was an absolute fart factory, after I started all my intestinal.digestive problems went away, and I was ghost wiping every time I took a sh!t.

I have since added a few things to my diet....carrots and red bell peppers to my steak meal. Eggs as well as peanut butter and some milk. Its been great.

Its at least a good detox to do for a while if you have digestive issues. Its helped me noticeably.

Got all kinds of blood work done without much help, but noticed it was 100% diet related. Not sure whats causing the hyper sensitivity during these times

EDIT: Just saw at 17 min he talked about fat being a buffer for toxins, so if you remove the fat you're more prone to it. both of my episodes were after some weight loss. toxins released from fat might be the culprit in my case

That's a load of bullchit right there. If you gave a toddler the choice between a carnivore diet and a diet consisting solely of Smarties, they will choose the Smarties every fukking time. Does this mean Smarties are healthier than meat (and vegetables)?

Also, where do fruits fit into your theory? Kids like them and so do adults, but they're not part of the carnivore diet.
Take it easy Christian

the reason the carnoivore diet is so easy to adhere to is becasue everything on the menu is phuckin' delicious and there's not guess work I did it for about three weeks and lost weight, but it was to damn expensive to stick to religiously, and I started getting constipated, lol.

If you have to supplement with vitamins and minerals into a diet (I had to buy metamucil for example) then the diet is probably not optimal for long term.

The part about chitting is accurate, although not sure its relevance.

And the reason your mouth salivates more for a steak than a salad is because the steak has more fat, fat=calories, and when we were hunters and gathers calorically dense meals were imperative to survival. A steak is going to provide a lot more calories/fat and ultimately long term energy than a salad. The difference is, they eat that steak out of caloric necessity as then they would likely go days between their next meal of that nature. Our body's are programmed to survive, but now our lifestyles have changed so much that unless you're homeless that does;t really apply

The exact thing that Peterson and Rogan complain about is getting repeated in here. Go figure. They literally open the entire podcast talking about how everyone takes things he says out of context in order to make a personal point. What do OP and a few others do in here? Exactly that.

Unless I'm thinking of a different podcast, he says about 5-6 times that he's not a nutritional expert and he's out of his realm when trying to figure out why the diet he has works. If you listen to what he says, he talks about his health problems and family health problems with auto-immune disease and how he felt like **** for years eating a "healthy" diet and this seems to be all that works for him.

But please, make more personal assumptions without actually listening to what he says. Goddamn, some of you guys are worse than the mainstream media. (Srs)

well, that is true, but it also may be because the op posted a 30 minute video and noone has time to watch it all so we're simply commenting based on the title of the thread.

Good to know. I will let my kids eat all the cake, ice cream, and sugar they can handle because that is what they naturally crave.

I will also tell my diabetic patients to "eat what they crave" as their body knows what is best for them.

ok we aren't arguing about the innate drive for calorically dense foods, we're arguing about nutrition and health effects. Primal desire for things that contain lots of calories doesn't equate to health.

This. Did anyone even watch the video? The very first sentence out of his mouth is that he is not speaking as an expert dietician, just talking what worked for him. Rogan is just asking him about it because Rogan is into training/diet ect.

People go on specific strict diets for all kinds of medical reasons. Sometimes children are put on keto diets for seizures ect.

I like Jordan Peterson. Well spoken, articulate, passionate in his teachings. I don't get why so many lump him in with people like Alex Jones, Ben Shapiro, and Milo. (Oh wait, yea I do. He doesn't regurgitate extremist leftist viewpoints, so he must be a Nazi! That's the most common threads I see for all of them...they were on Joe Rogan's podcast and they don't regurgitate mainstream opinion. But I think Jones, Shapiro, and Milo go out of their way to antagonize / outrage / shock, whereas Peterson is....well, a professor.)

Now I don't agree with 100% of what he (or anyone, for that matter) says. I don't worship him or watch all his lectures. But in everything I have watched, he has made pretty good observations about society, where it's headed, and what motivates certain people to act out in certain ways. Just interesting to listen to, whether it's him talking about post-modernism, political correctness, or where he was talking about a Canadian serial killer.

In the clip Jordan claimed he didn't sleep for 25days after consuming ACV, and that for me pretty much discredited every other claim he made. Well I should say I believe some of his claims, just not to the degree he's claimed, because 25 days no sleep is absolute absurdity.

It also sounds like he suffered from extreme mental issues, juggled various medications and eventually came off during this change, so who knows to what degree they affected his mentality towards his and his families illnesses during that time..

Impossible to know if these claims are exaggerated or not. But the ACV claim alone leads me to believe he exaggerated the chit out of them. Did he also say an apple or something crippled his daughter for 30 days?

Thought the whole clip was intredasting though, saw a completely different side to him. Seems like he was pretty messed up in the past, probably still is given the extreme of his diet. He doesn't even vary his meat, pretty whack. Just eats cow steak, fried fat, and drinks water.. wtf.

Pretty much this for me.

I'm waiting to hear peoples experiences with this way of eating after doing it for a few years too.

They briefly touch on an interesting point in the clip, where they mention vegans feel great, look great, and life is just great at the beginning, but somewhere along the way things start sliding down hill and picking up speed. Interested to see if the carnivore diet follows a similar path.
