I'm heading back to the shelter today. Will update when I know how long what organization is going to stick around giving food to all the evacuated people. Thank you everyone who donates to help those in need.

Remember alot of charities money just gets wasted on admin and fall corruption
want to donate food and do good? Go buy some and physically give it to local people/shelters yourself.

Totally true with organizations like the Red Cross, etc. I could write an essay on how much I hate them but this isn't the thread for that. I've been dealing with them constantly for the last 3 weeks. So disappointed.

Other organizations (World Kitchen where our disaster shelter is) has done an amazing job of feeding hundreds of people a day. But I 100% agree with you that physically going somewhere and either volunteering or donating money directly to people is the best way to make sure you're helping. I'll probably write up a synopsis on all of this in the next couple weeks when I get a minute off. I've been involved in the Camp Fire disaster since day 1 and it's crazy to see the amazing work and also insane corruption of certain organizations through this entire process.

I know but I cant trust a charity rating when the Clinton Foundation was rated highly all that time.

It's not a perfect system but I think people learned their lesson from that scandal - CharityWatch ranks organizations based on their transparency etc too now. FeedingAmerica seems like a very good organization.

Agree 100% about helping locally where you can. Will be volunteering locally at the holiday, doing my little bit to spread peace on Earth and good will toward men.
