This is ridiculous, are u saying the only real impact you can have on another life is that of your own kids?

What about volunteering and helping others? Dedicating your life, or at least your spare time, to helping less fortunate people? You will almost certainly be remembered as a great man for helping complete strangers, than you would for helping your own kid like you're supposed to do.

And furthermore, I'll be dead, i won't know if people praise me or curse me in death, and I won't care at all. Its no different than being cremated instead of buried. Burn me and spread my ashes in the ocean, I'm dead who cares.[/QUOTE]

I mean ok dude, remove yourself from the gene pool if you want, no one is going to stop you lol

Biologically it's about the continuation of the species. Your personal contribution is insignificant, and in some cases, you could argue that not reproducing is better for the spread of life.

Worrying about your legacy and all that is more of a moral/mental imagery that keeps us going. They may be wrong, they may be right. Find what tugs on your soul the hardest and chase that.

If you have good genes and have lived a good life you should procreate.

If you are poor or have bad genes reconsider.

I’m not really depressed , merely stating the truth . Like they say, that’s life son.

Yes but as man it isn't as risky to have children later (though there still are risks, so don't wait too long) so at 31 you still have time. If you don't want to date somebody with kids then just find someone younger.

Nope.

Society doesn't value that actually. It values hardwork, intelligence, and longevity.

Ugly people like Bill Gates are billionaires.

Not necessarily, there are great men who perform great deeds which they couldn't have done with a family to look after. But as this only applies to a very tiny percentage, generally yes if you don't reproduce you're a failure. However simply reproducing isn't enough to make you not a failure.

I'm 37. I'm not saying I definitely don't want kids, but I'm in absolutely no hurry either. Don't let some ******* tell you you're wrong for not having kids because a few years ago he didn't know how birth control worked and now he wants someone else to be miserable.

Let me ask you this... who cares and why do you care what anyone else thinks about how you live your life? Just LMFAO @ people who can't blaze their own trail in life and follow society into the depths of despair.

Imagine sitting in traffic or standing in a line and wanting more people

There's no problem facing the planet currently that can be solved by more people. In fact, if we weren't at the top of the food chain we would be culled like deer.

You're only a failure if you have kids and don't take care of em, you do you OP. I'm a dad and i love my kids but would not have felt like a failure if i didn't have any.

No because anyone outside of medical reasons can just swoon a 4/10 ditch pig and impregnate them. It's one of the most easiest things to do in life and usually done by men who cannot afford them.

Literally never heard anyone say that. We all die alone. When you are too old to work and have no more money left (healthcare gets it all eventually), your children are going to be too preoccupied with their own lives to give a chit about you.

It's in our nature as human beans and deeply ingrained in American culture. Go hang out in a nursing home. Almost all of them have multiple children and very few get more than a couple token visits per year.

I have a few friends left as bachelors in their late 30's.

They still date hot women but 90% are divorced with kids.

Man you're way too hard on yourself srs You being shorter than average doesn't automatically mean your kids would be short.

Either way, have kids if you want and don't have any if you don't want any.

Still, they know they have children and grandchildren.

It's like saying why be financially successful when you're young because it's not going to matter when you're in a home.

You can still look back on your life and be proud.

The point of having kids isn't too have company when you're older.
