Its not that, dumbass.

Everyone has an innate drive to have kids. Its just that the wealthy have more stuff to attend to. The peasants have nothing to attend to and so its easier for them to have kids.

I just finished a double major in mechanical engineering & physics with a minor in math & chemistry and have started work on a Phd in nuclear physics. When I was an undergraduate I was inducted into the Mensa International high IQ society, and I can tell you certainly don't want kids. I have tried to convince myself that maybe one day I can see myself having them but I don't think I ever will. I just don't want to be like the "cats in the cradle" dad because I know that most of my life will be devoted to research and my career. There isn't really a way that I can be a father and a scientist and do well at both, so I have to choose. I think my life will be more fulfilling knowing that I made significant contributions to my field, (and therefore humanity) rather than just being a father.

With overpopulation , we’re basically treating this planet like a dumpster as it is . To bad most people don’t see wtf is going on till it’s too late .
Although imo I think it’s already too late ,and the damage is irreversible.
The one percenters are probably trying to develop designer viruses as we speak in order to orchestrate a mass culling

Its just the low IQ, sometimes poor, emotionally unstable people that are having kids now.

The dating world is really weird and I'm noticing a lot of smart people getting into their 30's with no prospects of having children.

Basically the world is fuked lol
It's the reverse.

People on welfare have big families, enjoy time off, are around their kids if they choose, and don't spend all day working for rich overlords. They a;so get others to pay for almost everything.

They are sly.

I'm a workaholic and am very respected in my career. However, I have ZERO family and now really, really, miss it. I'd do almost anything to have kids with a woman I loved. I'd even raise another guy's child, and I swore I'd never, ever, do that. But, I now love children and family probably more than others because I have none.

Ironically, all I do all day is try to save people and make them feel better. Many women, all married of course, tell me I'd make an ideal father.

If it's what they truly want, shouldn't an intelligent person be able to figure out how how to have children alongside an meaningful career? Some of the highest achieving people I know came from dual-income households, the parents both having good careers.

Smart people are better at planning out their lives to accomplish goals.

no wife, no kids crew

college degree and high ambition, talent crew

i'd rather focus on my hobbies/passions in life, like producing music and traveling, hanging out with friends all day, etc. can't do any of that chit when you're tied down. well, you can, but it's a very stressful and annoying experience tacked on that LIMITS your potential.

there must be hundreds of upsides to having kids, but there are millions of upsides to NOT having kids ... just sayin

I was quite young when it was administered but I believe it was Stanford-Binet. IQ and decision making skills aren't necessarily positively correlated 😉.

Going to be a daddy in 2019 brahs. I am educated and make above 100k/year. Overall it does seem people are choosing their careers over having kids but personally I think it will be way more fun and rewarding to have a family than slaving away for decades hoping to achieve some grandiose career ambition.

My wife and I are firm believers in the extended family model. We plan to have our first in a couple years. My mother-in-law will move in with us to look after her grandchild.

I know it's not for everyone and people have different values.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

I think the biggest detriment to the modern family is the state. The state essentially has the authority to replace the father of any family at their own discretion. Not that you're exonerated financially of course, you will still have to pay what they demand of you regardless of your financial situation.

It is simply too dangerous to have a family unless you are 100% certain you've found the right woman. Even then, society has conditioned women to seek a divorce at even the slightest inconvenience and just have you pay for them and the kids until the kids are of legal age.

If the government just stayed out of families lives then we'd probably see a healthy increase in birth rates.
