Smart people aren't having kids anymore

Is it just me or does it seem like the current generation between 24-35 that have well paying jobs, good IQ, and mentally stable enough to raise kids aren't having kids?

Its just the low IQ, sometimes poor, emotionally unstable people that are having kids now.

The dating world is really weird and I'm noticing a lot of smart people getting into their 30's with no prospects of having children.

Basically the world is fuked lol

We live in a much more selfish and self absorbed society now. Also, feminism and more people are more focused these days on achieving their personal goals more than settling down and having a family. Seems that way at least.

All I'm trying to say is it seems like the people who are fit to raise children aren't.

A lot of factors. Social media, online dating, feminism, cost of living, new social norms, etc.

A lot of people aren't having children; it's difficult to have many children under economic stress.

But the human shouldn't be under economic stress and the point of government and banking was meant to facilitate the family and quality of life.

Maybe I'm reaching, but imo smart/successful people realize there's more personal satisfaction in doing your own chit than spending 50-80% of your time and resources to raise a child in your 20s/30s

There is personal satisfaction in both. Society has placed a bigger emphasis on "chasing your dreams" over raising a family. It's a society thing. It does not in any way mean those people are happier or smarter imo. It depends on you and what you want out of life.

For some reason, the media has discouraged having children. You hardly ever see having a child as treated like a standard thing everyone ought to do. They discourage you from having children, and so many women are scared chitless of childbirth and getting fat. It's sad. So much of society places an emphasis on making money and having a lot of sex as a man, but they cut the part about becoming a father.

that's been the trend pretty much since advances in hygiene, medicine and food production dramatically reduced child mortality across the board, so that being poor and/or uneducated didn't mean losing every other child you had. high rates of urbanization also made it so having kids became a cash sink and a drag career-wise, instead of having more hands for your farm or tradie business. then with women mostly catching up with men's labor force participation rates, raising kids is more or less a professional business you pay for nowadays.

I mean, we can't collectively bitch about it as Miscers when most people here are on that no kids no marriage time.

Wouldnt you want to enjoy the many things that the world has to offer before being tied down with kids? We are living longer so there are more time to have kids later.

And there are more reasons than just fertility for that. Certain anomalies begin to occur at much greater rates as women approach 40 and beyond.

People I work with have kids in there mid 20’s . There children have no intentions of having there own.

Sex is the poor person's recreation. Some people equate having a big family as wealth. Stupid people aren't good an preventing pregnancy.

The dumber they are, the more kids they have. Smart people know the ROI with kids is bad. Most of all, for productive people, having a kid means less money and time for themselves. Poor people get more welfare benefits and it doesn't cost them anything, and they aren't doing anything with their time anyways.
