After the house breaking incident, he was sent to Minnesota State Training School where his rage and hate for everything human was intensified. While there, the staff members raped him and beat him up. He was often tortured and made to do nasty things like dancing naked to the staff members. This was all in the name of what the attendees christened “The Painting House”. Pupils from this school would leave bruised, bloodied, and broken down.
I've noticed with serial killers it is always state intervention + child rape for a strong majority.

You add this to their lack of empathy or feeling connected and killing gives them power.

Dahmer's crimes were sexually motivated. His goal was to turn a man into a sex doll, hence the drilling holes in their heads, pouring in acid etc.

What is so hard to understand?

Some people get turned on by a chick in sexy underwear, some are into bondage, some love nothing more than eating her ass (like the whole misc..right), and some people like Ted Bundy just need to smash a woman's head in with a hammer and have a fap.

It's known he frauded a lot, like I don't believe he was the killing machine he pretended to be, there were murders he claimed but hadn't done and his rat murder cave was probably just his sick fantasy.

Pretty sure he killed some people though and he comes across like a legit psycho in that interview. I like how he keeps saying 'yeah I felt nothing' when doing some sadistic murder...all the time smacking his lips, smirking and generally looking like he's stroking a raging boner under the table.

It's worth remembering that serial killers are, duh, highly disturbed individuals. They're not reliable narrators. Serial killers tend towards grandiosity, in their minds they are some kind of angel of death instead of sad grubby little men with fukked up childhoods.

Anyway, they lie a lot. Some of the more mentally ill ones are legit deluded and don't even know they're lying, though those ones are more likely to be spree killers than long term stalker/murderers.

I read a book on him and the cop who headed the team that finally caught him, was pretty interesting.

He killed so many women, basically perfected his methodology and was routinely killing every few weeks for years.

Methodology was:

1. Pick up a hooker from the roadside.
2. Talk to her to reduce her fears, casual conversation. Showed her pics of his family.
3. Get her to use toilet to reduce mess when he killed her.
4. Request doggy-style.
5. Ligature round the neck, reef back on it while using his bodyweight and legs to prevent her escape.
6. Once the rope went round, I think zero women escaped though a couple managed to fight hard.
7. Dump corpse in the wilderness.
8. Repeat.

OP I strongly advise you to discard anything a serial killer claims regarding motivations. While there may be some truth to it, these people suffer from a severe defect that prevents them from feeling or caring about anything. They simply do not process things in the same way. Many of them have a bizarre narcissistic streak and a total disregard for anything resembling decency.

After watching these videos, you will almost feel sorry for him. You will view him as a flawed human being who deserves treatment and not death.

And you would be wrong. You wouldn't realize he chose to turn himself in to avoid death and now lives happily and comfortably on the state's dime.

Netflix went and popularized him with the show Mindhunter too.

You can't even tell, but he is manipulating you in the interview, getting you to sympathize with him. He tries to get you to not want to kill him. He dupes you into feeling sorry for him. He makes himself a hapless victim, and feigns taking responsibility. In reality, this guy was just absolutely rotten to the core. Everything he does is calculated. Look at the very different picture his brother paints. The only way you can beat men like this is by killing or imprisoning them before they kill anyone. If they have killed, they must be immediately removed since prison is actually a reward for them. Ofc, due process and the possibility of innocence always exists, but if you know the guy did it, the courts can suck a dick imo. Dudes like this should be summarily executed off the books.

It has become fashionable in this age of debauchery and filth to glorify psychopathy. Most of you do not know what a real psychopath is like or the devastation they can wreak. Real psychopaths are not like Dexter or Sherlock or whoever else you see on TV. These are the most vile, reptilian slime people. Not all of them end up doing horrible things like this, but all of them do have zero sense of conscience and goodwill. Their behaviors are entirely governed by self interest and they have no regard for rules or norms.

The best thing you can do when you encounter such people is get the hell away from them.
