$300 for a French Made, high quality, non china sweatshop made wallet is well worth it to me.
one where low income cels take out a loan to buy a 'luxury' wallet, and high income earners make more money putting it in more worthwhile assets.

I guarantee you I make more money than you lmfao, if you want to compare, happy to send at least 4 months worth of paystubs to a moderator with ID and spoon.

The fact you think people are actually taking out loans to buy a ~400 wallet proves you are on that little bus time.

it's fake news.

$300.00 is a lot of money to spend on a relatively valueless item that's just a giant, "hey look at me I have money to blow on this unnecessary item."

How is it worth it to you? Is the feeling you get when you pull out your wallet and people see you have a luxury brand worth it? If so, sure go ahead. Gotta feel good about yourself I suppose.

My original statement was people finance the bags/purses. The one's in the $1200-2000 range. Its essentially a store credit card they sign up for to use in store to purchase LV products.

Genius system really. They get someone that likes LV products in there and really wants one but works a minimum wage job and could never pony up $1200.00. Convince them that for just a little more then $100.00 per month they can get the bag. Etc. They probably aren't paying that much in interest in the grand scheme of things but they are paying a lot more then the item is worth.

They also get a lot of people that attempt to return merchandise. IE they buy it with friends then later come back alone and attempt to return. Enough to where they had to institute a no returns policy.

Simply the aesthetic of it, and the fact it's highly durable, and not made in China is enough for me.

Honestly I am FAR from a try hard. But there's certain everyday things that I have no problem paying more for.

$300 really is not that much. I used to think it was when I was a minimum wage cuck.

Not sure why people get so rustled by the fact that someone else may see value in a finely crafted object, regardless of how utilitarian/trivial that object may be.

"Worth it" is highly subjective.

I have a wallet from Saddleback when they were $50. Now they're like $100 four years laters. But, the damn thing looks only a week old. Great quality. I have a briefcase that matches.

Make sure you're leaving it out for display of status. Keep it on the table or bar top, let everyone mire. Walk around with it in back pocket half sticking out so all can notice.

What kind of crap wallet are people buying if it doesn't last years? I have several wallets, from cheap ones to an LV one and in terms of durability there's literally no difference. Sure I could sell the LV wallet and make some money back unlike with the cheap wallets but then the cheap wallets didn't cost me much to start with so it's not like I'm losing out.

Repped.

The people hating on luxury items are the same people driving a Kia Forte and think their skull candy headphones sound “good enough” playing through their android based phone.

Straight up frugal plebians. Just lol at mentioning your walrmart wallet holding up as if that’s some great achievement. Congrats on having zero taste.

i've been using the same $19.99 black "leather" Dockers wallet for like 6+ years

no fux given

holds my cash and cards, and that's all i need it to do.

just LOL if your wallet is worth more than the money inside it LOL

i'd rather spend good money on expensive Michael Kors underwear/briefs 100% SRS... comfort is always worth more than looks alone.

Well if you have any recs for high quality leather goods I’m all ears.

My only requirement is not be made in China or any other sweatshop country srs.

For something to be made in ethical conditions with fair compensation for craftsmanship such as France/Europe it will cost more. Even USA made things are more expensive. I will gladly pay that premium.

In specific areas the French are better (for me): Christian ********* heels as an example. But LV is a monogram sort of cope...the brand recognition is like McDonalds, and the quality isn't that great. Whereas leather goods for males...BV is where it's at IMO.

How much do you make now? I wanna get to the point where I can buy a $300 wallet one day. I still wouldn't, because I don't see the point in spending more than an hour's wage on a wallet, but regardless.

What are your exact reasons for thinking you are inherently better than all the Chinese?

You do realize China buys things from us as well?
