Don't know why anyone would piss money away on a female super hero show. Women don't like super heroes. Males don't like female super heroes in leading roles for the most part (as we are not women). Can get away with it with huge ones like Wonder Woman (but I highly doubt it would have done as well as a show), but no one gives a **** about Batgirl.

Ruby Rose is, the google says, 1.7m tall and 58kg. That's a BMI of 20.

Christian Bale during the first Batman movie was 1.83m tall and 86kg, giving him a BMI of 25.7.

For Ruby Rose to be proportionally similar size, she would have to be 74kg. By comparison, Lydia Valentin is 1.69m and has lifted in the 75kg class, America's Jenny Arthur in the same class at 1.66m, and so on.

It would be nice to have a woman action hero who actuallylookslike she can kick arse, instead of looking like a fashion model. It's like casting the Twilight guy as Batman and not asking him to get bigger.

Based on the trailer, it looks like it's going to be in the same style as Supergirl (I gave it one episode, I mentally checked out after we had a fashion sequence of her trying on outfits)...

IMO a show made for teenage girls. Looks like I'll pass.

Dude, Buffy The Vampire Slayer was a huge success! Women and men alike loved it.

Supergirl took a ratings dive after moving from CBS to CW, but made it to Season 4. (I couldn't stomach it, but it appealed to some people.)

A lot of superhero TV shows have been cancelled in the past few years, with male leads.

I don't blame them for trying something new, but it just look cringey to me.

I'm hoping that someone comes a long, and creates a Christopher Nolanesque mature rated Catwoman TV show, where someone channels Michelle Pfeiffer's portrayal.



(I rank her Catwoman as one of the best comic book villains/Antiheros in Cinema.)

From the trailer alone (and I had to skip through it out of disgust) I'd say they are going for the 'style over substance' approach. Christian Bale is a fantastic example of changing body types in movies (American Psycho -> The Machinist -> Dark Knight Trilogy) and I'm not sure why they wouldn't even make the slightest effort to portray Batwoman as someone who can fight.

This isnt batgirl (Commisioner Gordon's daughter) this is batwoman...a completely different character and she's a lesbian even in the comics.

Fans dont really care for her comic counterpart either, so I'm not sure why making a TV show around her would be any better. Much like the rest of the CW superhero shows her character will have to be propped up by the occasional cameo in The Flash TV show....but even that series has been on the downturn. So I guess they're just throwing lawn darts at a board and seeing what sticks because her character seems awfully random.

Or I could be wrong. Supergirl....... a show just as horrible as it looks is on its 4th season so I guess they're just catering to their audience.
