The only reason USA got the atomic bomb so quickly was because nazi scientists already pretty much completed it, US just took it over from the nazis. Nazis were on complete another level from scientific and technological standpoint.
Actually, US was going to be bombed by nazis with the atomic bomb but the war was ended shortly before. This info ofcourse was kept secret because US didnt want public to know how close they were to losing the war to nazis.

It was interesting to me because I always wondered how people could be driven to mass hysteria and hatred on a level so insane. But now, I am starting to understand how it happens. Jingoism and propaganda play a major role along with providing people a scapegoat for their hatred. I am also starting to realize that many people do not care about truth. They believe that truth is a matter of opinion and is written by the victor. They are, of course, wrong. And truth always prevails. Kicking and screaming, those who embrace scientific and mathematical truth will always have the advantage over those who do not in the end. It's just sad that there will be bodies along the way and that we have not learned the lessons of the past.

Do you really think they don't care about truth?

I think people do care about truth, they are just too stupid to see the real scientific/mathematical truth and discern facts from propaganda.
