OP also has to worry about his own kids. This isn't just his own life he'd be messing up by doing that. Have fun dealing with it when the crackwh0re "mother" decides she's entitled to being in her kid's life again and brings all her bs with her and your own kids have a weird childhood because of it, OP.
again, this is his own blood. totally different than going to an orphanage.

i have a family so i know all about protecting them. Im confident OP can protect then from his crackhead sister.

As for the rest, he should formally adopt the kid and have her sign away all rights

If it's early pregnancy, let her abort.

It's his half sister who he has almost no ties to at this point in his life and she's a crackwhore on her third or some chit pregnancy/kid. This isn't some niece or nephew from a somewhat decent sibling he has needing adoption when the parent tragically dies in a car accident or something. Your holier than thou tirade fools no one with two brain cells to rub together.

Your primary responsibility is your kids- inviting a drug addicted person into your life who will thennevergo away is not in their best interest

You adopt the kid then.
Srs.

OP has to protect his current family, AND he owe it to his kids to give them the BEST he can give them. Bringing this into their life is absolutely not in their best interest. It's NOT HIS PROBLEM. He also owes it to his wife's extended family not to bring drug scum into the family either.

So... put your money where your mouth is and YOU adopt the kid.
Since you are so willing to put a burden on others. Man up.

I think it’s kind of a juvenile response to call someone a “retard” for contemplating giving a kid without a chance a home...but you do you playa

At the very least, before you make a decision, watch Ms. Pat talk about her crack babies. She should be touted as the funniest female comic. Not this Schumer garbage they try and shovel us.

Seriously, watch it.

not going to lie, but thats still your blood. I don't think it's that easy to say not to do it. Especially since you're married and financially stable.

edit: actually read the OP. Just let her get an abortion then. But if she has it, I know I WOULD take the baby in, and give it a chance to succeed.

The fact that she’s trying to throw the decision to abort or not into your hands shows classic manipulative behavior drug addicts are known for. Separate your family from this immediately and decisively.

Sorry I dont let me emotions control me like a beta. I call it the way it is. This isnt a kid in need of help that comes from an otherwise normal healthy mother. This is a kid that will likely suffer from MANY ailments and mental problems. Which wont be noticable right away. By then your stuck with the kid. Not to mention the genetic personality traits that will HIGHLY likely result in this kid doing drugs starting in your home which you will be responsible for. Feel like getting your house raided because your adopted kid is dealing or doing drugs? Or depedning on the age of your current kids, having them influenced by a druggie in the house?

Have fun dealing with a lifetime of issues because you wanted to feel holy and righteous, when the kinder thing is to let her abort it/him/her.

I’ve requested more information from her...how far along she is, what her current situation is, etc..I’ve promised nothing and haven’t heard back. But I’d like more background while I mull this over.

Orphanages aren't actually a thing anymore, and your complaints about being negged are a little silly. It's alarming that you're confident and certain that you can predict provably unpredictable people. I'm glad OP is talking about possibly being unequipped to handle adopting a child. I just don't understand your behavior ITT at all.

Be realistic, how old are you and do you have kids?

Go to the doc and find out the fertility of your sperm. If you can make kids then encourage her to give the baby up for adoption. If you found out you can't make kids, then congrats.

If I were in your shoes, this is all I would consider doing. Find a good home for the baby who is removed from your immediate family, and work with the legal system to ensure boundaries are in place.

The only contact she had was the first year - the agreement stated my parents were to send her two photos a month of me, and even then my parents send the photos through the adoption agency as a sort of mediator. I can't imagine the drama had it been semi-open or an open adoption.

You're dealing with some pretty heavy stuff right now. Take care of yourself and your family first.
OP, I second this idea. It sounds like a great alternative where the baby can be born and potentially raised in a good, nurturing family.

I vote that you float this option but that you don't get directly involved. I came from a somewhat toxic home (wasn't raised that way, it became that way in my later years) and I had to GTFO in order to thrive. You worked to get to where you are and a successful, healthy family and home are fragile. Don't risk the current and future safety and well being of your family, financially, emotionally or otherwise.

Damn your sister just put the fate of the kid on your shoulder. I'll be torn if I'm in your situation being a Christian.
I would hope she didn't tell me.

You need to discuss this with your wife and kids. It's going to be life-changing. Another thing I'm worried is, your dealings with her wont end with that, now that you'll have her child.

This would be the last place i'd come for advice on that, virgin incel miscers? Definitely have to raise it if you're comfortable financially. Disgusting how so many people are ok with killing babies, must be liberals. I'd be cutting off contact with her after this though so not put in this situation again.

Jebus christ, this.

OP, this is NOT your problem. This could be a life-long mistake for your kids and your family. Is this about kids? Yes. Yours. You want them to have the best resources and opportunities they can. This is NOT it.

Again, the fact that she asked you and threatened abortion is absolutely evil. I'm serious. That is sooooooooooo wrong. Do this is not protecting your family. She can also put this kid up for regular adoption. YOU don't have to adopt it. I

A FAMILY THAT WANTS TO ADOPT A KID IS GOING TO BE THE BEST BET FOR THIS CHILD. Not you and your family. There will always be resentment, danger and serious issues if you do it.

Damn, that is a tough situation. On the one hand I can see wanting to do this to give the child a chance at a good life, but on the other, you have two children already and have to think about how much of your energy is going to be diverted into caring for a child who you know is going to likely have some serious health issues at birth, regardless of what your sister claims.

I really don't know the answer here, OP, but I will wish you the strength to make the right choice and know that either way you decide, it is the right decision for you and your family.

Trust me kid not a liberal. And I abhor people get abortions simply because they refuse to take responsibility. This is one of the FEW times I begrudingly accept its kinder to opt for an abortion. Although in reality **** stains like this should be sterilized. Sure its POSSIBLE this kid grows up to be well adjusted and healthy, but the odds are far not in the favor of that. You think this mother is going to stop using drugs while pregenant? HARD drugs.
