I didnt care about my first car because my uncle chose it and financed it to me through his company at a reduced price. It was worth like 8-12 and i believe i paid like 3500 or something. I dont remember how much i paid.

So, i didnt choose it, and had no investment in it. I still liked cars kinda topically, and when i was young, but as i said, no investment.

But the next car i bought was exactly what i wanted and nice as fuk. Feels good getting into every time

I love cars and always have.

I love my money more though, and that gets in the way of me having any "fun" cars.

I do have a motorcycle which gives me my speed fix, but I'm ALWAYS looking on cargurus to see what's around me.

You've never wanted to take something apart to fix it and ultimately find out how it works? Say your brakes for example, which are pretty easy.
I understand the sentiment of people not caring about cars as much as they use to.

1. They're expensive money pits to maintain in the grand scheme of things.

2. Even if you're interested in cars it's an expensive hobby in general.

3. They may only have bad experiences with cars (always breaking down/bought a crappy make or model that's been nothing but trouble).

4. Even if you want to do your own repairs it's too big of a risk especially in modern cars that are almost totally ran by electronics, and if it's your only car you rely on to commute every day, you're less likely to want to tinker around and phuck something up.

Personally I wish I could be as invested in my car and cars in general but I dont have the time or money. I'll change my own oil but that's about the scope of my personal repairs. Even brakes in newer cars got fancy electronic gizmos built in and if you screw up trying to replace them you can fry an entire circuit board.

I had a friend my freshman year of college that was all about the car scene. Modded the chit out of his car, easily spent $15k on aftermarket nonsense to make the car sound better and increase hp. One night he was driving home from work and got hit by a drunk driver. Totaled the car. It was his only means of transportation and because he spent so much money on aftermarket bullchit he had no money saved to get a new car. He had to take public transportation for a year before he could get himself back into a car that he personally owned. I had started going down his path but stopped after I saw what he had to go through.

Most liter bikes are electronically limited to 186 and with a simple ecu flash will top 200mph. Not sure where you get the idea that fully faired sportbikes have poor aerodynamics. With a cheap aftermarket turbo street legal bikes will run 6s at well over 200mph in the quarter mile. Show me a road legal car that can do that.



4:30 for a 6.5 232mph 1/4 run on a street legal setup.

Need a truck to haul the bikes, fish, venison, play on the trails & snow, fook sloots deep in the pussy deep in the woods.

I was super into cars when I was 14-20. Had a few ugggge speeding tickets (last one was a misdemeanor charge that cost a fortune). Now I have kids and idgaf. I don’t even know what year my car is. It has rain sensing wipers, cruise control, and a decent 60-80 pull. That’s all I care about. Will drive this bish till the wheels fall off.

Cars are an unfortunate necessity in most first world regions of modern times. It's sad really. In order for me to maintain my job, which is 15 miles away, I must drive a car, or suffer horrendously expensive uber/taxi trips, or suffer horrendously long bus commutes. I like the freedom that comes from a car. I have zero interest in what a car does or looks like, with the exception of its features and functionality (rear view cameras, HVAC, MPG, that stuff).

Never got into cars. Kinda ridiculous. People spend lots of money on these things and they’re still in traffic with the clapped out civics. I drive a truck because it’s big, it’s comfortable and has utility.

Airplanes, now that’s a whole different story. Airplanes are actually a legitimate masculine hobby.

Car meets don’t have much free floating test. Lots of black rim glasses, hunchbacks, lined up chinstraps and retail employment. That’s not my scene.

Coincidentally changing the oil is one of the things I won't do.

Seriously not worth my time.

Not gonna get dirty and all that when I can pay like $30 to have it done while I get something to eat.

Juice just isn't worth the squeeze there.

Same here. I laugh when people say they change their own oil. Its like 7 dollars more to have someone else do it. I've rebuilt or built probably 10+ engines over the years but I aint fukin with an oil change.

Up until the late 19th century, cars did not exist. So it's a bit strange to equate them with masculinity as some (many) people generally do. I'm waiting for the day when having your own spaceship is a thing.

This is a huge plus. All that power in your hands and very stress relieving. After long day of work it makes you feel alive.

Night drives are also GOAT whether an empty City or in the middle of nowhere with a sky full of stars blasting retrowave. Something is seriously wrong with you as a man if you don't enjoy that.

I implore those who don't care for cars to rent something nice for a day or 2. Doesn't have to be extravagant like Lamborghini. So many to choose from

Got into them once I could comfortably afford them. Agreed with the posts ITT about it being frustrating to own a fast car when you can’t really go fast. Thinking of switching to a truck that I can put some mods into actually.

One funny thing I noticed, when I was younger and driving an average nondescript car, I’d get cut off by luxury cars all the time. Once I started driving a nicer car, I only get cut off by ****ty Hyundai’s... or 320i’s (because, you know, ultimate small dick giveaway car).

True story. I had never driven anything with over 300hp. Now my car does and it definitely has a little more life than i had ever experienced before

My bros wife's dad is baller so i have been a passenger in lambos and ferrari's but hadnt really ever felt it
