I'd guess the dad didn't know how to swim? How could a 9 year old pull a grown man under? That is really sad.

Everyone should know how to tread water/do a basic swim stroke. Of course you can still drown depending on circumstances like in an ocean with rip currents, but the chances of something happening in a pool would be much less.

My guess is that at least two of them could not swim and they pulled each other to the bottom of the pool, probably all three went under at the same time.

Daughter starts drowning, bro jumps in and gets in difficulty, sister starts pulling him under, dad jumps in and Both the kids pull him down with them.

Or worse, dad couldn't swim and he took the son down with him after the sister was already drowning. Sister drowns, and dad drowns himself and son.

It will be something like that.

Tragic. Rip.

Most likely scenario is none of them could swim but they thought it would be safe to play in the shallow end of the pool. Someone ventured into the deep. Attempts were made to rescue. Panic caused drowning.


I know someone personally that drowned similar to this (saving his child from drowning but he couldn't swim). And I pulled a grown man out of a public pool that drowned. He was just messing around in the shallow but got too close to the drop off and ended up slipping into the deep. Panicked and drowned in about 6' of water. Dude was about 5'9-5'10ish and drowned in water only a few inches over his head. He literally could have let a little air out of his lungs, sank to the bottom then pushed off the bottom at an angle and reached the side of the pool.





I have no idea why people that don't know how to swim think its a good idea to play in the water.

Geez, that is terrible.My mom didn't know how to swim so she made sure all 3 of us did and she took lessons. While she's not the best swimmer she can at least do breaststroke or a poverty free style. I also started my son as an infant. It's a very important skill to have, IMO.

Former beach lifeguard checking in. Can confirm, even if you're a really strong swimmer you should never attempt that. Unless you've got a rescue buoy with you, you're the buoy. And drowning man strength >>>>> retard or old man strength.

That video pissed me off.

Did the mom make an official satement yet? This sounds very suspicious and biopsies should be conducted to verify other factors were not the cause.
