All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

She's paying 3000 a month to be stuck in an apartment all day.President Trump correctly states that NYC is 'going through hell'. And that it'll reopen 'sooner than people think' but also 'when it's safe'. And I agree, just hope we get there soon. I don't see what this has to do with 'freedom'.
P.S I get to work in less than 10 minutes. Not everyone here has to have hours of commutes every day to get to and from work.

Bacteria and viruses aren’t the same thing
Yes viruses live on surfaces, but gyms are known as BACTERIAL breeding ground because of sweat
COVID already proven to no be transmitted through sweat

On the rest, I know those feels. Equinox was a great escape in the city and without that, parks closed...even the best takeout places I knew of closed it is an f'n 'videoconference on mute, chit post on the Misc, take a break to cook' and wife is ultra-busy with her job though perversely. We do go for walks but it's not the same - Manhattan's lacking that 'energy'.
Frustrated af if I'm honest.

Like... Gyms listed like they are part of the national security. Only 6 things are listed... "gyms" being one of them. I swear, Trump is the GOAT troll.

Gyms have a lot of bacteria, but are no more susceptible to viruses than the door handle you touch to any store you enter.
Plus gyms are equipped to sanitize regularly. Much more so than most businesses.

I was thinking about this and honestly if anything is gonna become the "new normal" its not positing working out as something you do as "going to the gym" but something normal day to day that you have.
would you go to take a shower in a public place? No you have a house with a bathroom installed as a basic appliance.
Would you go to a public barbecue area to cook your food and then go back home? No you have a stove and oven as a home appliance.
Its should become the new normal for people to have an olympic barbell rack somewhere as "an appliance" in their home.
It wasnt long ago that we used to go to public theaters until home theaters became more common and quality.
In the future, as more people start to make lifting part of their lifestyle, they will also invest in home appliances like workout stuff.
It shouldn't be a luxury it should be a basic default.
Gyms are just too nasty of a public service.
It also slows the spread of casual lifting lifestyles.
where would body building be today if all homes came with a workout room instead of a "den" or "office" (which is now just a laptop somewhere). Its part of the sales pitch that it should be normal to do for any smart healthy person. Working out isn't going above and beyond what is normal, its a default need and not doing it is a deficit of humanity.
We have to fundamentally see working out as a daily chore like showering, eating, and using the bathroom, all of which we dont go to public places of gathering to do and is private and too dirty to share with others.
Everytime I went to the gym I got sick like twice a year or more.

Instead the office is reduced to a simple laptop.

It should be vice versa, you should be saying, I have a small apartment, I cant even fit my couch in here because theres no room because I have my bed, my TV, and my squat rack and no room for anything else.
Instead people are putting a couch in the room and saying I have no place for a gym.
what is more important? sitting on your fat ass watching TV eating sour cream and onion chips and fruit punch Rockstars or actually working out and keeping the body living in a healthy manner?
If theres no room make room. If theres only 1 room than thats your fault for not having more space but what should go in there first? For most people this mean just flipping the switch in their mind on what is a priority.
if youre below that poverty line and dont even have a full kitchen and bathroom and other stuff (studio 1 room) or below thats outside of the scope, but for anyone in a reasonable space its often doable. All it takes is a small area against a wall and something to hold a barbell.
The price it costs to buy some used stuff is nothing against yearly gym fees and it saves you money anyway.
