I do lift, jog really long distance over 2,000 km a year and also practice Karate.

I enjoy them all really and never consider myself as a masochist.

The good thing is that I always have a few other athletic activities to fall back on when one of them starts falling behind because of something like injury. If I only focus on one thing I'd be devastated. Diversity is the key as in any thing in supposedly a good life.

You are you and others are others, don't generalize what people do because every one is different so should you be.

Good luck, live wise and enjoy wise, life is only once.

What if I am a gymcel and an athlete at the same time!?

Am I "stiff and awkward" or "relaxed and flowing and natural"?

And btw, lifting weights = sport

lifting for the most part is due to psychological damage, if its taken very seriously. if its just a hobby, or youre a professional its fine. but there are serious body image and self esteem issues with male lifters

I usually LOL and call people retards but I'm willing to have a civil discussion about this topic.

To the people saying lifting is harder, how fast are you running? I'm curious if you're running or just casually jogging. The guy asking about 13 minute miles is on to something.

In other words, cardio guys are soyboy cucks and lifters smash cardio boy's girl all night.
And what about guys that do both intensely and weigh over 200 pounds?
How does your theory deal with those outliers?
Big, fast , and into endurance for the heart and general health?

Man I'm not going to lie, as I've spent more and more time on the boards, I've noticed weird attempts to cope come in very weird forms.

Coping is okay if it's done in a manner that is productive and healthy. After all, to cope is to effectively deal with an issue.

I think it's a little sad to look at somebody else's form of activity/exercise (especially one they're passionate about) and then go "These guys are soyboys because they like to do XYZ." The fact of the matter is that 80% of men don't even exercise, so why knock down a brah who is actively doing something to prevent himself from getting out of shape? Why expend part of your mental space on something like that?

Yeah, people who do cardio are a little different. I think they're a bit crazy, because I hate running. But I gotta' respect a brah who can clear 10+ miles without issue because that seems like torture.

Wakey wakey.... srs.
Lifting takes much more willpower.

Weighlifting is probably one of the hardest sports you can practice and one of the hardest sports to make progress.

Only a guy who never worked out srs can say that lifting doesn't takes willpower...

This being said...

Remember the "Fight or Fly" thing?

Runners choose to fly
Weighlifters choose to fight
No way chief. While lifting hard does take strength, most of it imo comes from the mindset. The rest of it comes down to just how much you can lift. For example, I CAN push myself to failure on pull-ups. There will be a point where my muscles are like ok, you can't do this chief, let go. Next set, amp yourself up. You gucci.

****ing cardio? The ****ing mental torture of knowing you got another 30 mins to run. your legs are heavy, your lungs feel like they're on fire (idk what causes that? CO2? Cold air?) your bones and joints staring to hurt. Everything is PURE AGONY. Idk what fkin runners be smoking but for them to do that **** day in and day out man. I'll stick to lifting.

I guess that's another thing though, I enjoy lifting so it's more bearable to me. Running, ye not so much.

You probably get winded after 2 minutes in bed with your girl OP you fat kunt. Strength training and cardio are equally important aspects of good health.
“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn

"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. I’ve been trail running (~8mi) because it’s super refreshing in a nice hilly forest and feels good. I can see people chasing endorphins from long distance running but fuk doing that on the street. Think I need to make the switch to mountain biking though.

Have you ever heard of Powerlifting? Strongman? ... even Bodybuilding...

Athlete =a person possessing the natural or acquired traits, such as strength, agility or endurance, that are necessary for physical exercise or sports, especially those performed in competitive contexts.
Sport = an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

Basically... as long as you compete (sports) you are an athelete. Ive being an athelete all my life in multiple sports and I'm gonna tell you, bodybuilding is probably the hardest one. If you lift for health or to feel good with yourself, then yeah, its easy AF as every other sport in the world. If you take it srs is hard af like any other sport in the world.

The problem is... you never took it srs, otherwise you would say that type of ****.

Even car/moto racing is a sport...

You need to put in some mileage during roadwork if you wanna last in the ring bruh. I’ve done combat sports my whole life, & every trainer worth their salt will focus on endurance along with explosiveness. Check any fighter’s workout log also. They all put in mileage at least a couple days a week.

As an aside, I generally agree with you OP, but it’s absolutely not a rule. Also, to the bros saying lifting or running’s easier, you just don’t realize how they both equally suck in different ways. I hate running for 15 mins & then it’s a fuking breeze once that runners high kicks in. Lifting, the pain is way shorter but it’s also more extreme & the hnnng painkilling endorphin rush isn’t the same. Plus, lifting involves diet manipulation that’s probably one of the hardest things on the planet. I struggle with bulking, but many struggle with cutting and stay bloatmaxed.

I’ve also previously been a hardcore runner. I’m talking over 10 miles several days per week, & my whole mentality changed compared to when I focused more on lifting. I felt less angry/aggressive but more calm & patient. It did give me a dose of soy for better or worse. I was less angry & restless but not as concerned with being dominant.
