People who lift weights vs people who do cardio (personality differences)
I've noticed that people who really enjoy cardio (jogging, etc) tend to be people who are a bit masochistic and enjoy hurting themselves.
I've noticed that people who really enjoy lifting weights tend to be people who are naturally more aggressive (higher baseline testosterone levels?) and enjoy not hurting themselves, but hurting other things (such as taking their anger out under the barbell, treating the barbell like the enemy). People who lift weights are much more likely to be MMA fans than cardio people.
I've noticed people who lift weights are much more likely to have tattoos than people who do cardio (joggers, cyclists, etc).
In other words, cardio guys are soyboy cucks and lifters smash cardio boy's girl all night.

Why not both?

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Honestly I don't understand the whole cardio only thing. You can still be healthy lifting weights but I've yet to see a single runner who has a body that I'd like to have. They all look starved and dying all the time. Very low test.

makes some sense, I love lifting but have to force myself to do cardio usually, lifting is a big stress reliever for me especially if I’m pissed off or frustrated about something, cardio doesn’t give me that kinda stress relief pressure valve

Not gonna lie... lifting weights hurt more than cardio. By far.
Wakey wakey.... srs.
Lifting takes much more willpower.
Weighlifting is probably one of the hardest sports you can practice and one of the hardest sports to make progress.
Only a guy who never worked out srs can say that lifting doesn't takes willpower...
This being said...

Weighlifters choose to fight

IDK about one being worse than the other. Maybe if you are talking about max effort/long duration cardio.
Not particularly afraid of pain and hard intervals = brief pain now vs. hard lifting = pain now, pain tomorrow, maybe the next day. And I know that if you train regularly DOMs is less of an issue; still with cardio it's very rare IME.

I do both, but I prefer cardio because I find it more meditative. I hate running tho. I do a mix of heavy bag work, jump rope, and walking.

I like to alternate lifting and cardio. I rotate lifting heavy, lifting light, and calisthenics on lifting days and running, rowing, and biking on cardio days. I'll probably never be super impressive at any of them but it does keep things fresh.

I do both and I find that I lift when I feel confident and happy about myself. Conversely, I tend to run when I'm feeling anxiety or feel sh*tty about myself. That's not always the case but I feel as though there is a correlation.

Lol tattoos are the opposite of “tough” or “aggressive”. They scream insecurity.
The rest I somewhat agree with. Especially the lifters are more aggressive and runners/cyclists are more mellow part.

It was my understanding that pretty much all serious lifters get in at least some cardio. A distance runner will have a different body form than others. That's why it's very hard to tell who is actually an athlete and who isn't. That skinny guy could leave you gasping for breath and come back around still running easily. The big guy you think is 'fat' could be hoisting massive weights and be a lineman. Mesomorphs are the classic look, but I don't discount the others. However, now that I think of it my exs are pretty much all mesomorphs.

Cardiocels are as bad as weights-onlycels. Do both and maximize your health gains. Being a meathead who can't run up a flight of stairs without getting winded isn't healthy and neither is being a 6 foot tall, 130 lb twink with 8 inch arms and barely enough skin to cover ribs like my running only friends.
I agree that lifting > cardio for health, but getting better at running has done wonders for my resting heart rate and body composition during these Karenavirus times.

I find running absolutely boring and thought many of them are soyboys TBH.
Many "marathon" runners don't challenge themselves beyond their normal pace and keep their metabolic baseline once their body gets used to it.
On the other hand you have the elite marathon runners and triathletes that are type a personalities.
I think on average lifting seems to intimidate people and they see cardio as a path of least resistance.
My cardio is jump rope, heavy bag work, and sometimes cycling with my GF.

i do both. i used lift heavy af for football but after college my body couldn't take it. combination of injuries and burning out.
got into mountain biking. it melted off the weight from football and overall made me healthier. i've been dabbling around in road biking as well. i mix in weights too. feels great walking around being shredded and in shape. nice not being out of breath after going up a flight of stairs.
