I was in Debate for 10 years. I'm an amazing public speaker. When giving speeches make sure you have attention grabbing devices sprinkled in every so often.

Repeat repeat repeat your speech multiple times but when the time comes, improvise to make it more natural. When you feel you're losing your place, draw back to your memorized notes. And the obvious, be confident.

I think ppl psych themselves out too much. Breathe, take it slow, enunciate your words.

This is probably the most insightful thing in this entire thread and literally nobody else knows what they're talking about. Trust me OP, it might save your life

It’s a skill just like anything else. Some people have more natural talent but studying it and learning will eventually allow you to surpass those with talent if they aren’t working on it.

It use to scare the **** out of me to speak up at all.. then it became easy to present. Then I was speaking to the whole company sometimes. I still get nervous but I know that the nerves go away within a minute or so and as long as I’ve prepared it will go well.

I’m actually decent at it and feel confident projecting my voice, my only problem is I blush EASY af. Like even a slight bit of anxiousness will turn me very red, which shifts my attention to how red I am and how hot I feel, which makes it 100x worse

The redness also happens when I’m selling sometimes. Need to get a hold on that but I just have that pigmentation that makes it super easy

it's ridiculous at school because it's for a stupid grade and nobody gives a **** about what you say except the teachers and peers are just judging you. but in the workplace it's much easier. in highschool i literally skipped out on most of my oral presentations because of anxiety, but in the adult working world i can easily communicate to a group of 20 mature adults

but it's funny because i have managed so many teams of middle aged adults for years, but then i tried school and we had to do the stupid introduce yourself presentation thing and i was pissing myself lol.
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Used to be horrible at it. Had a speech teacher my freshmen year of college that changed my life with it.

Now I have zero problems as long as I have a grasp on what I'm talking about.

Have almost no nerves. Sometimes I get a little flush, but I realized that was mainly from caffeine.

Used to get upset stomachs before that class and face would always turn red and couldn't control it, until that teacher made everyone in the class speak in front of everyone every class, and hammered into you that as long as you are prepared, there is zero reason to be nervous. Take the role of the teacher.

It's all mental.

Don’t be afraid to look stupid. I love public speaking and go always go in with that attitude.

Plus I know way more about the subject then I present. So I can introduce more if needed.
There is no they…
