Sure but the fact is watching any live TV requires you to pay it

You could be a Chinese dude that doesn't speak English, but if you want to watch live Chinese TV you gotta pay the BBC. Its ridiculous

In uni we hid our TV and let the guy in and said we never had one, he still cased us on if we were watching iPlayer on our laptops though but we were never bothered after that.

Never paid it. Mostly because I watch maybe 5 matches of Wimbledon a year and that is it, otherwise my TV is used for streaming and the BBC is a lefitst pile of chit.

They send you ever more unbelievable threatening letters with fake printed 'official' stamps and signatures. One place I lived they did finally make good on their threats and showed up after 3 years and said I needed to pay, over the intercom I asked for a court order and when they couldn't produce one I said I wasn't letting a random person into my house and told him to gtfo. The letters and desperate attempts are 5/10 lulz. If you fill out the form saying you don't have a TV they still harass you just by name. Someone told me to return their letters to sender full of pistachio nut shells as it fuks up the automatic letter opening machine.

There was a freedom of information act and they have hardly any detector vans, it is likely totally impossible to pinpoint people in a block of flats too.
