Oh man, I know this one sucks, as I know a friend that wans nothing to do with children, but his inlaws are very persistant on her and her spouse having children, which they both don't want any. Have you been upfront with your Mom about it, it might help if she knows, hopefully that'll get her off your back with the grandkids hustling.

I haven’t been home since last year. I had a chat about it with my dad who is better at handling the stuff my mum says. I have never had interest in kids or pregnancy. Must be the scary stories my mum told me about births (I was born soon after we were freed from soviet union) so she only has herself to blame for completely putting me off from a young age. It has stuck with me my whole life. My best friend recently gave birth and I didn’t really want to see her or talk about pregnancy because it just scares me

Yeah its a doosey, its probably not gonna be an easy conversation but you do want to nip that in the butt so she won't keep mentioning it or recruiting other people to hustle you about it.

Yeah. This baby talk can get so annoying to a point I avoid going home or having any deeper conversations. Also I have a 5yrs younger bf so I don’t want him to worry that me or my family will trick him into some “accidental” baby. However my phobia isn’t that common for women as we are trained from youth to like babies and kids and all that bs. I just never developed that in me and people will always say chit like “ah you’ll change your mind” bla blah. No, my phobia won’t just go away and I don’t really fancy kids anyway so I don’t bother tackling this phobia

As someone who's witnessed 2 natty birthings up close, I can tell you with absolute certainty having to watch is worse than having to participate.

Completely understandable, children aren't for everyone, and specially if you don't want them to begin with. She is probably gonna have a time getting used to it but at the end of the day is your life, your choices affect your own life, she made her choices, now is your turn to make your own, and you shouldn't have children if you don't want to or because you're pressured by family or a partner. I hope she understands you and won't bother you with it any longer.

Honestly don’t want anything to do with pregnancy. Participate or witness. Helping with childbirth was part of my First Aid training and the videos and explanations made me sick to my stomach. Should it happen I will leave from the first exit I had pointed out earlier

I have a submersion fear. I'm fine with water. I' m fine being in water. But I can't do anything that leads to my head going under. No diving, no jumping in, etc.

I'm pretty sure it stems from from an incident when I was very young when I fell into a large tub of motor oil.
I'm #12 in Y2J's "club"...and I'm scared.

Just like you OP I would also say I'm really Claustrophobic I think a lot of it is probably trauma lol I used to be deathly afraid of elevators. When I was about 8 yrs old I didn't listen to my mom when she told me not to go anywhere when she said she was going to the laundry room in the lobby floor. We lived in an apartment that was 20 stories, and we lived on the 13th floor(dead srs).

Well being a rebel I decided not to listen to my mom, and decided to go surprise her in the lobby. Little did I know she used the stairs, because they were doing work on one of the elevators on one of the floors. So I got on, and the doors closed I pressed the lobby elevator wouldn't move. The number for the floor wouldn't light up either...I tried pressing the open door button, and nothing happened. I started to have a full on panic attack that I would be stuck in this elevator forever. Finally, it started going after only like 5 mins lol, but it seemed an eternity at the time. I pressed the 13th floor quickly, and ran back inside our apartment. After that I was always afraid of elevators for years thinking I would get stuck in it. I would avoid them in buildings if I could use the stairs lol even if it was to the 10th floor lmao.
