Had Lasik ICL done a few years back
I was -7.5 one eye and -8.0 in the other if I remember right.
Not having to deal with contacts every morning is the chit, and I was a pro having had them for nearly a decade lol.
Best 7500 I’ve ever spent srs

I think my eyes may be starting to fail me. But I'm not sure, it could just be eye fatigue from too much screen time.
I'm the only one in my immediate family that doesn't wear glasses.

There is also another device that has 2 fingers that slide under your eyelid and rest on your skull socket and cheek - this prevents your eyelids from blinking
The above 2 measures ensure that you cannot move your eyeball or eyelid
After installing the above 2 devices the doctor uses eyedrop anesthesia - this is the magic stuff, 2 or 3 squirts and you feel absolutely nothing in your eyes and surround.
He then smears a gel like substance over your eye, its weird coz he's actually using a metal stick directly onto your eyeball and you know you should feel pain but you feel nothing.
When its time for the razor to make the flap they shine a gray light into your eye. You just see a gray blur and then a black line move across kinda quickly - that black line is the blade making the flap.
Then the doctor puts the gray light off and you can see but its like looking through a frosted window - everything is blur
Then the laser shines directly into your pupil, i cant remember what color is the laser but you see it moving around the eye and you can smell it burning as it shapes the eyeball.
After the laser is done the doctor uses a stick the flip over the flap back into place. One last smear of gel over the whole eyeball and its done.
+-5 minutes per eyeball

Iirc the last time I used eye drops was about 8 months post-operation, then I was back to normal. How much was it? I heard about it causing issues like dry eyes. I want to do it but kinda scared.

Good stuff OP.
I had Lasik in 2010, also the greatest decision of my life. I had awful vision and always had issues with contacts drying my eyes out.
Cost $4000ish if I recall correctly.
Don't go to those places saying $999 an eye Laser Surgery. Do you really want to get a budget facility for your eyes? I paid for one of the best in the northeast.

Had it 16 years ago.
I have an Rx glass now since my eyes are like 0.5 right and 0.75 left but I only wear it when driving at night.
Still happy with it. I wore eyeglasses from 1983 to 2005. Felt like a new life for me after the surgery.

One thing I do know is that the way LASIK works is there’s a flap over the cornea that they open to laser correct the pupil and then the flap heals over it but it can get dislodged. That’s why it’s dangerous for combat sports like MMA where I think they say PRK is the preferred method.
