Honestly, sounds like it's being well managed. Oh, and LOL@Russia/Iran.... they have the GDP if what, the US in a month? And no name in the banking industry.

One very important stat to look at, other than money supply, is velocity of money. Velocity of money depends on how much money is actually out there and in use. It is at historic lows now and crashing since 2010. Will more supply of money mean inflation, or any consequence, if that money isn't actually in the market? I would think not. But what happens when / if this money enters the market? Will it ever enter the market? Who knows. But just printing money doesn't really cause inflation in the modern economy.

To the OP - your friend sounds like a run of the mill moron.

That's funny because there are multiple pink flags according to a gigantic ******* I know. OP thinks:
The fed has bought massive amounts of corporate debt that is worthless
The fed is buying up 30 year treasury bonds because no one else wants them
Russia and Iran are teaming up now to create a new reserve currency based on oil
New regulation has frozen banks requirement to report their reserves and are basically running at zero
More and more mortgages and government backed loans are going to completely default
The market isn’t an accurate indicator, many reasons. Lots of big investors are getting out, it’s being propped up for other reasons as Rome burns. He didn’t bring it up but also lol at Apple and amazon being such a big part of it yikes
If the banks implement a mass credit reduction and even if not there could very well be massive societal changes coming. He thinks the eviction freezes are an attempt to force negotiation between tenant and landlord and widely it isn’t working.
