In fairness that isn’t limited to the military. Old neighbor was a firefighter chief making 130k/yr. He retired at 80%, lol and we wonder why the states are going broke. As soon as he retired he took ANOTHER firefighting job. Yes Srs. Apparently there’s nothing that stipulates he can’t do that.

I'm critical of him too but that White House phone line that he established worked wonders the 3 times that I used it.

1st time was for my GI bill. After numerous emails, I got fed up and called the white house line and reported it. Within a few days, they all of a sudden replied to my emails.

2nd time was for GI bill again, they haven't paid out tuition for 2 semesters. School finance office asked if I could assist since they're the ones that requested it numerous times with no response. I said ok, I called the white house line and reported it. Within a week, tuition paid.

3rd time was again for GI bill, they haven't paid out tution for 2 semesters again. School finance office asked if I could help. I say, I got ya fam, called the white house line and bam, week later, issue resolved.

Disability pay definitely is. BRB 10% for erectile dysfunction brb 50% if you break a leg while in. It's a joke that we've been stuck with paying for.

If you volunteered to go into a job contract which you couldn't get out of except a certain time, moved every few years, deployed a few times away from your family and loved ones, missed some of the most important events in your children's lives, all for mostly ****ty pay (if enlisted,) then yes you deserve something back for the things you signed up for.

My buddy had crippling anxiety... he was finally able to see a proper doctor and therapist and has been attending bonfires and fishing trips with us. We are proud a/f of his recovery and he even said the VA was doing a much better job. SRS
