I'd say its the ultimate cope. I make more money now in my 30s than ever and do less work than I ever had in my life (high school bs jobs included). You just have to know how to schmooze people and the chit you can get away with.

Materialistic pursuits are mega cope. Passion projects coinciding with career are life mastery.

Why would i try to move up in my career?

I’ve actually sacrificed my social life to get where I am with my career, I’m always working though too. I honestly love what I do and wouldn’t change a thing about it.

I have noticed the more success I seem to get the less people support me than they did when I first started.

I've never actually met anyone that refers to 'building their empire', or themselves as a king looking for his queen or a queen looking for her king, etc. that was actually worth a damn or accomplished anything of note.

Its always some loser that most likely makes minimum wage and is going nowhere in life.


Focusing on your 'career' is a respectable pursuit as long as its a realizable dream. I know a lot of people that started with literally nothing, never had any advantages or handouts, and became a millionaire or at the very least someone who lives like the upper 5% of society in their respective area.

Define "success"? Its different for everybody. If I can make the same salary as you or even 20% less and work half as hard as you, to me thats successful. If you know economics and how units of labor and opportunity cost work than you will realize working harder isnt always necessarily the most efficient use of your time.

Success to me is sustainability, not having to double check my bank account to see if I have enough in there to pay the bills.

Being able to make smart business purchases that help me grow but also give me a better return with said purchases.

Also being able to get continual referral based work that requires little to not effort in having to sell myself as an individual but rather people look at my product/work and realize it’s worth it to them.

To me, success is lonely often at times but know that it’s just me who creates it and celebrates it. I fee everyone else just jumps on a bandwagon for an easy buck but never actually devoted themselves fully to it.
