He claimed his adjustment could cure colic

Out of reps but thanks for the good responses. I'll give it a few more tries. I'm not trying to cure an illness or anything.

I'm a physical therapist, some chiros are great and honest. Many aren't, if a chiro tells you some BS like they can "adjust your spine" or "realign" your body, you shouldn't trust them. No one can realign your spine with their hands or a manipulation or else running a mile would completely destroy our spines. Manipulations do a quick stretch to the joint capsule (like cracking your knucles) which stimulates mechanoreceptors in the muscles which causes a temporary reduction in pain. A good chiro will tell you this and then either tell you to go to a physical therapist for further evaluation and treatment or pair with exercises.
I get a patient everyday I evaluate for chronic neck or back pain and I LOL because they always say this
"Ive been seeing my chiropractor for years for my back pain and he's great."
Or the "my chiropractor tells me my hip is out of alignment"
LOL at seeing the same chiro for years and still having pain. What a scam
And everyone has some sort of asymmetrical bodies, does not mean its the source of your pain.
If you really want a full eval for your neck or back pain go to a physical therapist. We are much better educated on the human body and pain mechanisms

GF booked me an appointment. They said they needed xrays to really see what was going on but after filling out paperwork and asking questions about everything she did a few adjustments, but nothing as extensive as what I saw the videos do. Pushed down on my hip, felt something move. Pushed down on my upper back, Did feel relief. Cracked my neck while I was laying face down and it seemed to crack the lower neck bones but only a couple of them.
Is this because it was the first visit and they didn't have x-rays and such, or are some chiropractors just not do much? Trying to decide if I should give this place another try or go somewhere else. I will say my range of motion in my neck feels better, isn't binding up, but I want to be folded up like a pretzel and cracked to oblivion.

You don't ****ing mess with their spine for a normal condition.
LMAO at all the people saying "you need to go every week for months for it to work"
Let me guess, your chiro told you that?
Same trick as planned obsolescence. Much more money to be made from repeat customers than from a one off purchase

But you also need to listen to her advice. Do the exercises/stretches and listen to her "do and Do nots" otherwise you will negate what the adjustment.

Never like a chiropractor crack your neck, they cause massive amounts of strokes. I’ve seen 2 patients that have had strokes from them this year alone.

Massages are great but they dont focus at all on joint maniuplation. If muscle tightness is causing the issues then a massage will help, but if it isnt muscle tightness then it wont help much at all. And fukking LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL at "I have pain therefore i need surgery." Have you ever had surgery before? Like...an invasive back surgery? It took me over a month to walk on my own again after my L5/S1 discectomy. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would have seen my chiro rather than hoping my disc would have healed on its own
Absolutely. I have a compensation curve in my back. Its scoliosis, but the curve is caused my uneven hips. My right hip is almost a half inch higher than my left so the spine curves in order to keep the eyes level. Anyway, 2 MDs Dx'd me with scoliosis but in my early 20s, a chiro foind i had a compensation curve and then an MD confirmed. Wne tto 4 months of chiro appointments, my lateral Thoracis curve went from 18 degrees down to 11
