There's no reason for an American Football player to be 350lbs in this day and age. Given how pass dominant the NFL is now, it's common to see linebackers that are only 235lbs and defensive tackles as little as 285. Wtf was he doing at 350lbs of mostly fat?
Starting weight 130lbs

Did anyone even read the fukn article, lmao?

He died from a blood clot. It can happen to absolutely anyone. It's random.

I'm not an expert on blood clots but it wouldn't surprise me if his size played a part.

To be fair, any viral infection will substantially increase your chance of having a heart attack or stroke.

Same thing could have happened if he had the common cold or flu.

One of the more dangerous effects of COVID is that it can cause blood clots, which is what he ended up dying from.

Also - just a note that most college's have moved football to the spring semester, but they are still practicing and working out during the fall semester.

When you're obese as this guy was, your body is already working 10x as hard as a normal sized person. Getting a deadly virus can put even more of a strain on your organs to the point where they can't fight it off and become severely damaged trying. This is why you get people who catch Covid and suffer a heart attack or organ failure. Yeah, he may have had a blood clot which caused his death, but that clot was caused by his body unable to fight off Covid.

People don't seem to understand just how powerful this virus is.

It can literally time travel and cause people to overeat and become obese just so it can kill them at a later date.

Every virus that induces an immune response will raise your chance of blood clots. There is NOTHING special about covid-19, there's just a lot of sensationalized science articles being posted about symptoms and effects because there's so much focus on it.

A deadly virus with a recovery rate of 98%, you should look up the definition of "deadly". To say it was Covid is just blatantly dishonest, you don't know his medical history but this is exactly what happens to inflate numbers and cause people to live in fear.

Yeah, it's really tough and you have to seriously try to be this big. I'm 6'3'', and the heaviest I've ever been was 320(and this was for a very brief amount of time, maybe a couple weeks). I was dealing with a medical condition that made me pretty much stay in bed all day, and I reached a point where I was eating fast food multiple times per day and/or ordering multiple large pizzas and eating them within 24 hours. As soon as I stepped on a scale and realized how much I had gained, I stopped eating like this and was back down to like 280 within a month or two.

Yeah instead we should trust social media posts and articles written by comm majors too stupid to major in STEM.
You didn't even read any replies, clearly it shows people are doing research and not blindly following one side or the other based on politics.

Maybe i am crazy, but on an athletic site designed for ***self improvement thru athletics fitness and nutrition****, even a 21 year old(350 pound guy) should have the chance to rehabilitate himself and live past age 22.
He would have had the chance if Covid did not exist.

i was referring to this :

"Stephens grew into a mountain of a young man, at 6-foot-3 and in the neighborhood of 350 pounds, playing defensive tackle. His feet were so enormous that his high school coaches went to the Steelers to find size 19 cleats. His hands were so immense that he carried a tablet in the palm of his hand as if it were a phone."

He wasn't just an over eater and Defensive Tackles are rarely 200 pounds.
