So tired of the devaluation of property in this country. Property has more rights than thieves, I'd rather we prioritize the property. This idea that all human beings have intrinsic worth is retarded.

Stupid move assuming he wasn't actually threatened. Is the guy a ****bag for stealing? Yes. However he didn't deserve to die (again assuming he just took the **** and left) and it was really dumb to throw your own life away over someone stealing a couple dollars worth of ****ty food.

All three should carry a mandatory death sentence for the perp. Sorry about your family and your friend but I stand by my statement.

Lol at minimum wagecels engaging in mortal combat for enormous corporations.

I’m not defending the thief at all (which you guys would love to assert, because dialectic thinking), but why? For 7-11? You gonna save them from being ruined? You gonna get in a life threatening physical altercation for this company that doesn’t even know you exist?

Come on man. Have more self respect.

Also, if you kill someone over petty theft, you were likely chomping at the bit for some type of justification and have mental issues to begin with.

i dunno, ive never really pondered property/ life worth much. Obviously theft is objectivily wrong but comparing petty theft to rape is just retarded, theres no way you cannot agree there... they arent analogous unless you have the brain of a child

Though I believe for sure people have the right to defend their property with deadly force under certain scenarios, a clerk making minimum wage killing someone over a drink and a sandwich... not so much

Like how dumb do you have to be to chase a petty shoplifter out of a store with a knife and end up killing him over some false self-righteousness... Like what did buddy think would happen... Like would you go to jail over killing someone stealing 20 dollars in goods for a minimum wage job for a multimillion dollar company? I sure as **** wouldnt

Play stupid games, escalate force, be "a hero", go to prison. No sympathy for the clerk

Even if that is true, it doesn’t devalue my perspective.

So a store owner is not allowed to confront someone for stealing? LMAO.
The thief instigated the altercation by stealing, LMAO.

Hilarious how you're bending over backwards to defend a thief.

1. theif steals.
2. Guy confront shim "hey guy, return the items and I won't call the cops"
3. theif attacks guy.
4. guy responds with self defence.

dumbass on misc "you instigated situation, you can't clkaim self-defense" lmao.

- you are seriously making the claim that you should not be allowed to confront someone who has committed a crime? And if the perp gets violent when you confront them, you're legally at fault ? ?? lmao
- so I approach a hobo and tell him to get off my property
- hobo attacks me
- i cant' claim self defence because I "instigated" the situation by approaching the hobo

Lmao.
go put your stupid ****ing logic to the test and stab someone who is stealing from a grocery store. you're awfully confident in your retard logic so whats the worst tha can happen? Can't wait to hear you report back

My point about theft and/or robbery is - a dude walks into a store, where you're making an honest (****ty) living and pulls a knife/gun on you. He just made it personal by threatening your life over some consumer goods. I think people like that deserve whatever the fuk they get, and if he happens to die the world is better off. If he was a petty thief and ran off with a pack of chewing gum, yeah I would have let him run and enjoy the gum in peace. I don't think it's anywhere as bad as rape and murder if you want to grade things, but criminals are criminals and I have no compassion for them.

Someone was stabbed after they got violent when they were confronted for stealing.
The clerk, identified as Conroy Jarman, who was alone at the time, chased Jackson out of the store and into a nearby parking lot carrying one of the store’s box cutters, police said.

“The clerk and subject got into an altercation, which turned violent. The subject was stabbed with a box cutter,” Lt. Kevin Beyrer told reporters, including CBS2’s Carolyn Gusoff.

No one is stabbed for stealing.
Someone was stabbed after they got violent when they were confronted for stealing.

If I see someone in the grocery store stealing, and I say "you should put that back before I alert security", should I not be allowed to defend myself if they start attacking me?

If I confront someone for trespassing on my property and they get violent, I can no longer defended myself because I "instigated" the altercation.
If I confront someone for spraying graffiti, and tell them to leave, I can no longer defend myself if they get violent because I "instigated" the altercation.

Lmao.
I agree with your premise. The problem with applying it to this case is that the clerk chased the guy down, not just confronted him. We'll see how the actual details unfold but that fact will be a key point

Anybody who defends theft (as we’ve seen over and over ITT) has 1. Never owned a business and/or 2. Ever worked hard for the things they have. Stealing is one of the most disrespectful things a person can do to another and should be punishable by bullet to the head, just like murder and rape.

i agree with you there cause thats a totally different scenario. A person comes into a seven eleven and holds you at gun point and you can get the jump on them and they die, thats self defense. Your life was at risk and you have all the rights in my opinion (and hopefully the laws) to meet that threat with appropriate force. If they arent posing any real threat to your life or livelihood (AKA the burn down your house/store scenario someone thought was analogus) then no, you cant take the law into your own hands and hand out a death sentence

ITT 30yo's who's mom's still buy their groceries think stealing to eat is a death sentence.

The clerk turned defense into offense real quick, and committed an offence. Also manslaughter is not murder OP.

Provocation may lower the sentence but killing thieves is likely not 7-11 nationwide policy.
