Yup had almost the same situation. It was crazy that this place cost 6k a month. Thankfully she still had enough money, and my two aunts are retired and have good pensions. The care was awful, but luckily my oldest cousin is a stay at home mom and works part time as a nurse practitioner, so she was there all the time getting in fights with the nurses and caretakers for not dosing her right. This was a pretty high end place and we still had to deal with stealing, a janitor coming in at night and yelling at my grandma, alone, to take her clothes off, etc. It was pretty awful. She was pretty coherent though and had the most astute memory of anyone I have ever known up until the last month. That was hard man. I would get there after work and help the caretakes move her and clean **** if she chit, and a lot of stuff. Thank god for having a good close family though. Definitely brought us all closer together.

Also sorry for your loss this year brah. It's rough. You're a good man though and you showed it with helping out your family.

Here's my take:
- You are way too young.
- Relationship too new
- Ready for your social life to be over?
- Ready to lose a lot of sleep? Every single night?
- Forget working out
- Money will be tight tight tight
- Puts an incredible strain on the relationship

Esp men don't need to worry about having kids until mid 30's. Even then it's very, very hard.

I have a son who's almost 2 years old and I absolutely love being a dad, just make sure you have a solid wife who makes a solid mother and you'll have a great experience. I was initially concerned as well about the huge lifestyle change, but I've never got as much fulfillment from anything else I've done in life as I do from being a father, and to be honest, I don't miss my old lifestyle one bit.

That said, don't do this until you're financially and psychologically ready. I was 34 when my son was born, so I was already "over" a lot of the stuff I did in my mid 20s and less interested in doing things like going out to bars or whatever.

Yeah, having kids is the ultimate suck but it's also one that nobody regrets, I think. It's all about the attitude. if you love your gf and there are no problems and think can handle kiddos, why not? That's the ultimate goal anyway. shiettt, tons of people have issues conceiving in the first place, you might not be one of those couples. Plus on a bright side, your kid is not going to be embarrassed having a 50 year old "dad" or whatever age misc is telling you to start a family.

Talk to your gf about parts that worry you (just don't act like a scared little bish or she might dump your ass lol)

You do need to be ready but you don't want to be too old either. I had my first at 26 and my second at 31. I turn 38 in a week and I already feel old as hell trying to keep up with them sometimes, but I am still young enough to play with them pretty much whenever.

My brother is 35 and is only now just settling down with a girl who is in her late 20s iirc. If she got pregnant tomorrow he'd be 36 when it's born, 40 by kindergarten, and 46 when it's as old as my son is right now. Let alone having a second one. Lord knows I wouldn't want to be 50 trying to keep up with a 6 year old.
